2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Twenty-Four Darlington

Ross Chastain (42) will lead the field to green alongside Christopher Bell (20). The stages for the race are 45-45-57 laps. Unfortunately the Cup guys are in the field, so this may not be much of a race.

Caution is out for a wreck by Austin Cindric (60) on lap 2. Spencer Boyd (76) also got a piece of that as Cindric spun back across the track in front of him. Cindric threw quite a tantrum in the car. I’m surprised a playpen, diaper and pacifier didn’t appear in the car to accommodate him. Kim Coon mentions that he has tears in his eyes as she interviews him at the care center. 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race Seventeen Canadian Tire Motorsports Park

Congrats to Norm Benning on his 200th start. There are 32 trucks in the field. It’s a mostly sunny day with a few fluffy clouds – much better than the weather for yesterday’s qualifying. Ben Rhodes (41) and Noah Gragson (18) qualified for the top two spots. Alex ‘Tags’ Tagliani (12) is in the field. Timothy ‘TP’ Peters (25) is also running today. Dalton Sargent got cut on Wednesday and decided Spencer Gallagher would complete the season then injures his shoulder during a workout on Thursday. This is the first race of the Truck Series Playoffs for the Championship. The stages are 20-20-24. Continue reading “2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race Seventeen Canadian Tire Motorsports Park”

2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Twenty-Two Bristol

Elliott Sadler (1 JR Motorsports) has announced he’s retiring from full-time racing at the end of this season. I’ll definitely miss him. Elliott was one of my early faves when I started watching NASCAR. At the rate they’re retiring soon adults are only going to have the choice of watching the kids learn how to race or finding another sport to watch. I’m a fan of some of the young drivers, but only a few of them. Most of them aren’t interesting drivers – just reckless. And they certainly don’t bring personality to the table. They make me think of movie cops – ‘nothing to see here, move along people’. Kasey Kahne has also announced he’s leaving. Gosh I miss the MRN rss feed. I used to use it as my screensaver so I always saw the latest NASCAR headlines at a glance. I need to see if I can find the thing I used previously to set that up. I look forward to the time after all the changes and hope things are better – much better – than they are today. Continue reading “2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Twenty-Two Bristol”
