2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Twenty-Five Indianapolis

It’s cloudy in Indy and everybody’s wearing jackets. The stages are 30-30-40. After an appointment I’m tuning into the race in stage 3.

Cole Custer (00) lost in on lap 71 of 100 after pulling down on Brandon Jones spun through the grass into the wall and back onto the track.

2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Twenty-Six Indianapolis

It’s rainy in Indy at noon. Match time is scheduled for 1305. PRN is doubting it will get started at this time, though they believe that once this band of showers had ended they will get the race underway. Yesterday’s on-track activities were cancelled due to inclement weather. At 1244 PRN is certain the start will be delayed. A couple of people have mentioned that they’ll get the race in at some point today or Monday or Tuesday so it seems there are a number of people who are not confident the rain will move out today. Ryan Newman (31) mentioned NASCAR has scheduled two competition cautions for today. He also mentioned that Martin Truex Jr (78) will drop to the back of the field for the start. The rain has increased. The wind and the rain are remnants of Hurricane Gordon. The competition cautions will be at laps 10 and 30. The stages will be 50-50-60 for the today’s race. 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Twenty-Five Darlington

The legends were on stage on television. We saw a distant shot of it, the were stuck looking at bunned Kyle Petty and fuzzy Dale Jarrett instead of a nice close look – AND LISTEN – to the festivities with the legends. The hours and hours of pre and post race shows would be great if they were actually focused on the competitors and the competition. The tend to be never-ending hours of them talking to each other and enjoying their inside jokes and massaging their massive egos. While I’m sure they enjoy that greatly, since its all about them, its not remotely interesting or entertaining to me as a viewer. Then there’s the look. Krista – those glasses are not a good look. Kyle, 20 year olds with man buns can sometimes pull off the look. Most 60 year olds can’t – including you. Dale Jarrett, shave. Your face looks in need of a washcloth. Unless there was a bender in your recent past, try to avoid looking like a professional drunk and imitate a professional television broadcaster.

I’m seeing dark clouds in the background of a desk shot. I wonder if storms are forecasted later in Darlington. As they continue talking the clouds are spreading and it appears to be raining in the distance.

Dale Jr is so personable and loves the sport so much. He’s a delight on the desk. Continue reading “2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Twenty-Five Darlington”
