2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Fifteen Michigan

After a two hour rain delay the cars are making parade laps. Everyone keeps anticipating they’re only going to race to the end of stage two because there’s more weather to the west of the track. The stages for this race 60-60-80. There will be a competition caution on lap 25 of 200. Kurt Busch leads the field to the green flag. Congrats to Johnny Sauter on his Truck Series win on Friday night. Three JGR cars have to start from the back due to inspection violations – excessive wear on the splitter. Only Suarez did not have the violation and will start in the position he qualified. Continue reading “2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Fifteen Michigan”

2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Fourteen Pocono

It’s looking gray and cloudy in Pocono and quite breezy. I noticed Matt Yocum was wearing a jacket and putting his hand in his pocket as often as possible, so I’m guessing its rather chilly there. Congrats to Ryan Blaney on his pole win for the race. He and Kevin ‘Happy’ Harvick will lead the field to the green flag. The stages for this race are 50-50-60. The track temperature is 78 degrees as opposed to the 120 it was during practice. Chiily day. I see lots of clouds, but it looks like the sun is trying to peek through. 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Twelve Pocono

The sun is out and they say rain is in the area around Long Pond Pennsylvania. Amazingly KyBu is not on the pole for the Xfinity series race. Cole Custer and Ryan Truex lead the field to the green flag. The stages for this race are 25-25-50. While Kyle ‘KyBu’ Busch isn’t on the pole, I’m sure he’ll lead the charge to the checkered flag. Best wishes to John Andretti and family in your difficult time. Continue reading “2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Twelve Pocono”

2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Thirteen Charlotte

Congrats to Daniel Riccardo on winning the Grand Prix of Monaco F1 race. Congrats to Will Power on winning the 205th Indianapolis 500. As the pre-show begins Myers mentioned a thunderstorm in the distance. He, Jeff ‘Big Daddy’ Gordon and Darrell ‘DW’ Wallace are opening the show near the stage. The drivers will be introduced with a military guy. Sounds like they actually have 40 cars in the field for a change. I’m thrilled Alan Kulwicki is now in the Hall of Fame. Unsurprisingly Jeff Gordon was also voted in. Obviously he deserved it though I’d like to see those who made it possible for him to do what he did to get in before him – but he definitely deserves to be in the NASCAR Hall of Fame. I’m disappointed that Buddy Baker was not inducted – again. I hope he will go in next year. We miss you Buddy Baker! R.I.P. The stages for tonight are 100-100-100-100. 2018 Indianapolis 500

Partly cloudy day in Indianapolis. Nicole says temperatures are expected to be above 90 degrees. Fluffy clouds, but with some darkness in them. Looks like there might be rain – a pop-up shower – in the late afternoon, if their weather/cloud patterns are similar to ours. I miss Mari Hulman George doing the call. Tony George did the call. The guy who did My Indiana Home was dreadful. I hope we don’t get tortured by that again. He was loud, but sounded like someone making fun of the way Jim Nabors sang. Awful.
