Opening ceremonies begin at 8:55pm eastern. Once again it’s been a long week and tomorrow promises to be a hectic work day. Unless this race is awesome I doubt I will make it through it awake. This is the first race in the round of eight of the playoffs. Matt Crafton (88) and Carson Hocevar (42) were eliminated last week. Derek Krause (19) and Chandler Smith (18) will lead the 36 truck field to the green flag. The stages for tonight’s race are 55-55-90 laps.
Caution on lap 36 of 200 for a spin by Josh Reaume (43) and, Rajah Caruth (7).
Chandler Smith (18) wins stage one.
Caution on lap 83 of 200 for a spin by Connor Mosack (32).
Chandler Smith (18) wins stage two.
The best thing I can say about the event so far is that the laps are going by quickly. Nothing much is happening other than trucks driving around in circles, but at least they’re doing so rapidly.
Caution on lap 144 of 200 for a spin by Chris Hacker (33).
Caution on lap 178 of 200 for some reason I slept through. Apparently for a crash involving Dean Thompson (40) and Tanner Gray (15).
Restarting on lap 188 of 200.
TV keeps showing some chick who seems nervous. I know the race is boring, but so is watching someone watch trucks driving around in circles.
Ty Majeski (66) wins and will race for the championship in Phoenix.
The only saving grace was that this was a short boring event. They mostly ran around single file. Rarely could anyone pass outside of restarts. Not much intensity – everybody playing it safer. Boring.
