Congratulations to Stewart Friesen (52) on his Truck series win. The truck race was okay; mostly competitive with a decent finish and a deserving winner.
Congratulations to Tyler Reddick (48) on his Xfinity series win. The race was okay and messy with lots of spins. The spins disappeared in the last segment and Tyler Reddick ran away from the field and easily won.
Kyle ‘KyBu’ Busch (18) and Chase Elliott (9) had a good race going until they got Chastained. KyBu was attempting to reach pit road to repair a flat when Ross Chastain (1) ran into him so hard the 1 car went airborne and almost onto its side. The car literally drove over the 18 car then up the track into the 9 car of Chase Elliott spinning Chase and sending the car into the outside wall driver’s side first. Chastain is a menace without the skill and discretion necessary for the Cup series.

In a note unrelated to motorsports, congratulations to Manchester City on winning the Premiere League championship by one point over Liverpool. The title came down to the final games of the season today. Each team managed hard fought victories; with both scoring 3 points in their games. The final scores:
Scores
-
- Man City 3 vs Aston Villa 2
- Liverpool 3 vs Wolves 1
Ryan Blaney wins 3.056 seconds ahead of second position. The caution came out for Ricky Stenhouse hitting the wall just before Ryan Blaney (12) crossed the start-finish line so the race isn’t over.
Blaney had already dropped the window net.
NASCAR didn’t throw the caution when KyBu had a flat and was trying to make it to pit road which led the Chastain slamming into Kyle and Chase Elliott and ending their day. NASCAR won’t allow Blaney to come down and get the window net secured so he’s trying to do it from inside the car with both hands while steering with his knees. Restarting in overtime.
Ryan Blaney crosses the finish line first again.
That overtime period was ludicrous. For a non-points paying race to throw a caution just before the winner crosses the finish line taking the race away from the clear winner; then not allowing him to come down pit road to have the window net reattached. Distasteful.
After saying Blaney deserved to win the race, Hamlin went on to say the rules are for safety and you have to follow the rules and he didn’t have a window net. Hamlin went through a what-if scenario of his hitting Blaney and sending him into traffic without a window net.
Hamlin said on the radio, “you’ve got to play by the fuckin rules” when discussing whether Ryan Blaney should have been black-flagged in the last segment.
The race overall was ho-hum. The initial finish was fine – a typical Texas finish. The hullabaloo that followed was ludicrous. Denny Hamlin’s profane rant on the MRN interview was disgraceful.
