2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Twenty-Six Richmond

Hmmm, the cars are going four wide on parade laps. Pretty. Different. Apparently this is to thank the fans. I wonder how that works. Shrug.

Hurricane Irma is headed toward southwest Florida then onward into the Atlanta metro area, so weather talk is everywhere. The storm is huge. It was larger than the state of Georgia on Friday. Since it has shifted to a more western path it won’t cover the state as it was predicted to do. The track I saw today though looked like it would affect the western half of the state – including the Atlanta area.

Austin Cindric shows his colors and dumps Kaz Grala to take the lead on the final lap of the truck race. He had the nerve to say he didn’t feel bad doing what he did since Kaz already has a win this season. Austin’s birthday was yesterday. Maybe he’ll grow up and learn some decency. The stages for this race are 100-100-167 laps. Continue reading “2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Twenty-Five Darlington”

2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Twenty-Four Bristol

So now I find out that I was unable to see the driver’s intro because Bunny was controlling the remote and into Fast 7 this evening. Oh well…at least it looks like I’ll be able to catch the recording of it.

Okay it looks like they only actually showed – and allowed us to hear – the top 12.  Bummer!  I really enjoy the driver intros with their chosen music.

The stages are 125-125-250 for this race. Is this the race with the drivers’ intros – where the drivers choose a song? I’ve not seen that in so long I don’t even remember which race had it. I used to enjoy watching that.

The PRN guys keep talking about what a good crowd they have. They said it repeatedly last night and a few times tonight. I’m looking at the empty seats and wondering how bad were the crowds over the past few years if these constitute a good crowd.
