2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirty-Five Phoenix

Congratulations to Alex Bowman on his first Cup Series pole.

Congratulations to Brian Scott on his decision to retire in order to focus on his family.

Alex Bowman has led the most laps today. When I arrived home after errands I was pleased to see Alex Bowman leading, Kasey Kahne in third and Chase Elliott in fifth, though I was disheartened to see Jimmie Johnson in the garage. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirty-Five Phoenix”

2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Thirty-Two Phoenix

Condolences to Darrell ‘Bubba’ Wallace and family on the death of his grandmother. Congratulations to Daniel Suarez on his first Truck Series win. I fell asleep before the race began. Congratulations to Timothy Peters who I was told made the final round of the Truck Series Chase. Go TP! The weather looks beautiful in Phoenix. There are wildfires burning in the north Georgia mountains and the winds are blowing the smoke over the Atlanta metra area, so we’ve been engulfed in smoke for days. Congratulations also to Brian Scott on his decision to retire and focus on his family. Since he’s been married and a Dad he’s seemed to be happier and completely dote on his family. I applaud the mature decision he’s made to concentrate his energy on his family. I think it will bring him greater joy, than racing, in the long run. 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirty-Three Martinsville

Martin Truex Jr leads the field to the green flag on a warm October day. Some would call it unseasonably warm. The Atlanta metro area has seen temperatures in the upper 79s to lower 80s at the end of this week. Martinsville also has seen above average temperatures. Great weather for sitting in the grandstands and watching a race. Jeff Gordon is in the 88 car this week. Good to see Big Daddy behind the wheel again.
