What a crap ending to the race. After leading a goodly portion of the end of the race to have it end on a caution the way it did – with confusion – was a downer. Kutey Kyle Larson went to Victory Lane and Justin ‘Dewy Alligator’ Allgaier finished second and won the $100k for the Dash for Cash. The fact that he was holding the big check and totally bummed highlights the lack of importance of the extra money. To quote an old commercial, “Do you want too make more money? Sure, we all do”. While money is good, in a sporting competition is shouldn’t be hyped more than the actual sport and the win or loss of money doesn’t match the ‘thrill of victory and the agony of defeat’. Just saying… Continue reading “2017 NASCAR Xfinity Cup Series Race Eight Richmond”

Rain delay just before the end of stage two lasted one hour and thirty eight minutes.
Congrats to Daniel Hemric on winning the second stage.
There are reports that possibly Ross Chastain slugged Jeremy Clements when Jeremy grabbed his should while attempting to express his displeasure with Chastain. Jeremy did visit the infield care center and left from a door that did not have reporters around it wearing sunglasses. Looks like Jeremy’s mouth wrote a check his butt couldn’t cash, as they say. Congrats to Ryan Blaney on winning stage 1.
Congrats to Ryan Blaney on winning stage 2.
Erik ‘Da Brat’ Jones won the Xfinity race yesterday stinking up the show. I had to agree with the PRN guy when he said, “I’m glad NASCAR limited the number of Xfinity races Cup drivers competed in”. I’d like to see the number of races that include Cup guys further limited – unless the Cup drivers swap cars with an underfunded team for the race. Usually the Cup drivers vs Xfins are like shooting fish in a barrel – and extraordinarily boring to watch.
‘It’ joining Michael Waltrip and Adam Alexander in the booth guaranteed an unwatchable broadcast. I miss the old days of Race Buddy that simply provided several cameras with in-car sounds. When I’ve tried it recently I’ve given up between the commercials, the radio chatter, the interruptions in the feeds – just too little car sounds and race sounds. Fans need an option to view the race without being subjected to Michael Waltrip, Larry McReynolds and other aggravations.
I’m rather bummed that Atlanta won’t get a re-pave. I was hoping – very, very optimistically – that maybe, just maybe, a re-pave at Atlanta might bring back the exciting racing I experienced when I began attending races at AMS. On a given race weekend the racing would get better and better from the Trucks to the Nationwide cars to the Cup cars. Continue reading “2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Seven Texas”

2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Four Phoenix
Another beautiful day in Avondale, Arizona. It’s expected to be 91 degrees when they take the green flag and the high temperature is expected to be 96 degrees. Wish I were there for the heat, though they always say it’s a dry heat so the static electricity might make me wish I were somewhere more moist. I love dampness since it keeps me from getting shocked as much. As a Georgia girl though I love the heat! Ryan Blaney has the outside pole. Congrats to the Wood Brothers 21 team!
The race will be 312 laps broken into 75-75-162 lap segments. Continue reading “2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Race Four Phoenix”
