Wednesday, Post Martinsville, Pre Off-Week (AGAIN)

Nothing warms the cockles of my heart like getting off work after an extraordinarily long day (in what has been a long week) and finding the road to my house blocked with police and firetrucks and county workers’ trucks. Did I saw warms the cockles, I think I meant burns my a**!!! Last night I arrived home to no water. Today, I have trouble arriving home and after parking at a nearby grocery store and walking a mile home, I am feeling less than loving toward my complex. 2010 Spring Martinsville Sunday

Raceday dawns rainy and cold in Martinsville, Virginia.   Jimmie joins the 50 wins club with a lovely Race Day interview with Jimmie, Junior Johnson and Ned Jarrett – the other two members of the 50 wins club. Jimmie says he wants to get more life experience and more experience in the sport before he starts running his mouth and being a voice in the sport. Humble to the end, he is.  It’s been drizzling off and on throughout the pre-race shows.  The weather bimbo has shown us a huge band of rain to the west of the speedway. 2010 Spring Bristol Sunday

Race Day dawns cloudy and mild. Nationwide Race yesterday with a kinda ugly wreck and Harvick taking a cheap shot at Joey Logano ended with Dewy Alligator (Justin Allgaier) winning his first Nationwide race.

DW says Joey has to “man up”. He’s gotta show he’s ot gonna let people push him around like they have been. Hammond says he thinks Zippy will let him do that too. He won’t take anything away from him. DW said he thinks Zippy will help him.

Stumpy Steve Austin is the grand marshal of the race – his movie damage is coming out on dvd tuesday. Continue reading “2010 Spring Bristol Sunday”

Tuesday – Post Atlanta – Pre-Bristol

Okay, so this is kinda exciting. I’m watching Mike Helton get mic’d up for his 12:30pm press conference about the Carl Edwards-Brad Keselowski incident. The press conference isn’t starting ontime. Its scheduled to last until 12:55 – it was scheduled to go to 12:50 and he’s allowing an additional five minutes. There are 71 on hand in the crowd apparently. Ah it’s a video teleconference. All participants are in listen only mode. So there are 71 online. Helton did a recap and said they made it clear that the actions were not acceptable. The car going airborne on a mile and a half racetrack is something they’re looking into because they’ve not seen much of that and it’s a “very serious issue”.
