2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race Two Las Vegas

The coats are on as the wind blows and the sun goes down in the desert. Thirty-four trucks will line up behind Kyle Busch Motorsports teammates John Hunter ‘JHN’ Nemechek (4) and Kyle Busch (51). Todd Bodine returns to the track making his 795th start for Halmar Friesen Racing. He is chasing 800 starts before he hangs up his helmet. The stages for tonight’s race are 30-30-74.

Caution on lap 22 of 134 for a spin by Blaine Perkins (9).

Todd Bodine (62) busted for speeding on pit road.

Restarting on lap 27 of 134 with Chandler Smith (18) and Ben Rhodes (99) on the front row.

Caution on lap 27 of 134 for a wreck involving Colby Howard (91) and Chase Purdy (61). Hailie Deegan (1) got damage in the incident. Zane Smith (38) on new tires ran over Colby Howard (91) on old tires sending him around. Matt Crafton (88) and Zane Smith were also damaged in the crash.

Ben Rhodes (99) wins stage one under caution.

Restarting on lap 37 of 134 with Carson Hocevar (42) and Tanner Gray (15) up front.

Caution on lap 54 of 134 for a spin by Todd Bodine (62).

<Ben Rhodes (99) wins stage two under caution.

Restarting on lap 68 of 134.

— NAP — It’s been a long week. Exhaustion got the better of me at the half-way point.

Restarting on lap 94 of 134.

Caution on lap 97 of 134 for a spin by Carson Hocevar (42).

Restarting on lap 102 of 134 with Chandler Smith (18) and Christian Eckes (98) up front.

Caution on lap 103 of 134 for a crash by Ben Rhodes (99) with a little help from teammate Ty Majeski (66).

Restarting on lap 111 of 134 with Chandler Smith (18) and Kyle Busch (51) on the front row.

Split-screen on the restart. FS1 is becoming worst than NBCSports.

If not for Kurt Busch in the booth I would’ve completely abandoned the television broadcast. Bunny wants to listen to KuBu. The gimmick shots make the race virtually unwatchable at times.

Caution on lap 119 of 134 for a spin by Kris Wright (44).

Restarting on lap 123 of 134 with Chandler Smith (18) and Christian Eckes (98) on the front row via the choose rule.

Mikey ‘Motormouth’ Waltrip is driving me a little nutty rattling on and on. I enjoy Kurt, and would enjoy a lot less Michael Waltrip.

Caution on lap 126 of 134 for a crash by Christian Eckes (98). Eckes and Kyle ‘KyBu’ Busch (51) were battling for the lead. The replay looks like Eckes tried to come down in front of KyBu, but wasn’t actually clear.

Ryan Preece (17) has been posted for not maintaining speed and will lose three positions from second to fifth.

Restarting on lap 130 of 134 with Kyle Busch (51) and Zane Smith (38) on the front row. The KBM trucks line up behind each other on the top row 51-18-4.

Zane Smith gets the early lead.

Derek Kraus loses control and wrestles the car through a spin and down on the apron, but keeps it going straight and the race stays green.

Chandler smith passes Zane on the white flag lap.

Chandler Smith (18) wins.

Vince Welch of FoxSports mentioned that Chandler Smith is nineteen and already married with a baby on the way.

Mikey was babbling ahead of the restart about the KBM trucks being lined up. Kurt set the scene, explaining the relevant facts that made the situation precarious for each of the trucks on the front row. Zane Smith had damage which might result in the truck behind him, dropping Zane quickly. KyBu dumped his teammate on a previous restart and might get the same in return. His insight and story-telling provided tension and excitement to ‘another’ restart. Mikey said the obvious. Kurt said what mattered and what made this restart different from those that came before it.

Grant Enfinger (23) tagged the outside wall and went up in flames on the final lap.

JHN (4) went for a spin and Jordan Anderson (3) was unable to miss him and ended up in the wall and on fire.

Congrats to Stewart Friesen (52 and Ryan Preece (17) on their fourth and fifth place finishes respectively.
