2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Twenty-Seven Las Vegas

Forty cars will start the race. A competition caution is scheduled for lap 25. The stages for today’s race are 45-45-111. PRN reports the air temperature is 99 degrees at the track at the start of race time.

On lap 5 of 201 NBCSN has gotten bored and gone to a gimmick shot. We’re stuck looking at a steering wheel moving and out the windshield at a glare-filled shot of the track. They completely stopped showing the leaders and have been following the battle for third since about lap three.

Competition caution.

Caution on the restart on lap 30 of 201 for a big wreck involving Riley Herbst (98), Jeremy Clements (51), Sam Mayer (8), Jeb Burton (10), Alex Labbe (36), JJ Yeley (17), Dylan Lupton (26), Joe Graf Jr (07), BJ McLeod (99), Ty Dillon (31), Bayley Currey (15), Josh Berry (1) and Brandon Brown (68).

Restarting on lap 39 of 201.

Stage one ends with AJ Allmendinger (16) out front.

Restarting on lap 51 of 201 with Ty Dillon (31) and Brandon Brown (68) up front. Noah Gragson (9) had to start at the rear for driving through too many pit boxes.

Caution on lap 54 of 201 for Ryan Sieg (39) spinning and collecting Jade Buford (48).

Restarting on lap 59 of 201 with Ty Dillon (31) and Daniel Hemric (18) up front.

Justin Allgaier (7) takes the lead from Dillon (31) on lap 65 of 201.

PRN reports that Harrison Burton (20) says his windshield is covered in oil. Burton was behind Allgaier as he was working on Dillon. Allgaier was previously on pit road and the team said they thought they had overflow gear oil and sent him back onto the track. They don’t believe there’s an actual leak due to a problem.

Justin Allgaier (7) wins stage two 3.71 seconds ahead of second place.

Restarting on lap 96 of 203 with Justin Allgaier (7) and Daniel Hemric (18) leading the field to the green flag. Noah Gragson (9) will start from the back for speeding on pit road.

Caution on lap 120 of 201 for a spin by Justin Haley (11).

Restarting on lap 125 of 201 with Justin Allgaier (7) at the head of the pack.

Josh Berry (1) subbing for Michael Annett takes the lead on lap 160 of 201 from teammate Justin Allgaier (7).

Green flag pit stops underway on lap 175 of 201.

Ty Gibbs penalized for too fast on pit road.

Justin Allgaier (7) passes teammate Josh Berry (1) as Berry re-enters the track following his green flag pit stop on lap 181 of 201.

On lap 184 of 201 Josh Berry (1) passes teammate Justin Allgaier (7).

Josh Berry takes the white flag 4.317 ahead of second place.

Josh Berry (1) wins 4.398 seconds ahead of teammate Justin Allgaier (7) and 8.171 seconds ahead of teammate Noah Gragson (9). Congrats to JRM on the 1-2-3 finish.

So-so race – mildly boring – the leader could move to a big lead over second position, but Josh Berry and Justin Allgaier showed, at times, it was possible to catch and pass the leader.
