\"201403301640600025374\"<\/a>Cloudy day in Martinsville at race time. If the weather that moved through the Atlanta area is headed their way, there may be sunshine later today. I’ve not checked the forecast. We had clouds and rain Friday and Saturday, but the sun is shining now, so maybe they’ll see sun by the time of the Truck series race which was rescheduled from yesterday to after the Cup race today.<\/p>\n

A competition caution is scheduled for lap 40.<\/p>\n

Wreck on lap 2. Somewhere in the pack someone checked up and the accordian affect apparently caught the rookies off guard. Parker Kligerman ended up stuck on the curb. Most of the rest of the rookies (Kligerman, Kyle Larson, and Austin “Frankenstein” Dillon) were involved along with Kasey Kahne and Casey Mears. The talking heads want to crow about the large rookie class, but this wreck is what I see the large rookie class bringing to NASCAR.<\/p>\n

Since the owners are always complaining about how much it costs to fix a wrecked car, maybe they’ll re-think putting anyone who can con a sponsor into writing a check into a Sprint Cup car. Maybe not, as long as the sponsors keep signing over the cash.<\/p>\n

Kasey Kahne got hit by Brad Keselowski on pit road. Kasey was coming in for a pit stop as Brad was trying to leave. It was trying to get slowed up to avoid hitting Brad and got hit on the right side by Kurt Busch who was trying to get around them. Stremme and Kligerman are also in the garage as a result of the first incident. Brad has taken his car back to the garage as Jeff Gordon leads the field to the green flag on lap 48.<\/p>\n

Keselowski says he’s “about tired of his (Kurt’s) recklessness”. He says he has some suspension damage.<\/p>\n

Keselowski is coming back out on lap 76 without the front end of his car. Kurt Busch is under the impression that Keselowski pounded him in the right end.<\/p>\n

Lap 87 Keselowski brake checked Kurt Busch and they banged on each other for a bit causing the whole field to hit the brakes behind them until he was finally able to get past Brad. When they got around each other again Brad started banging into Kurt’s bumper. They have more than 400 laps to go.<\/p>\n

The sun has begun to peek out at Martinsville.<\/p>\n

Caution is out on lap 102. Ricky Stenhouse was trying to get past Kurt and Keseslowski and he slid into the wall and brought out the caution.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 224 as David Gilliland, and, Michael Annett spin in turn three. Travis Kvapil apparently got into the back of David Gilliland sending him around and into Michael Annett.<\/p>\n

Junior Johnson is sitting on Jimmie Johnson’s pit box. He lives across the street from Rick Hendrick and visits HMS frequently.<\/p>\n

Caution is out at lap 170 for a spin by Casey Mears after Gilliland tapped him in the rear.<\/p>\n

Caution is out on lap 200 for an incident in turn two as Jamie McMurray hit the wall hard. Dale Jr hit Jamie Mc in the left rear corner, took the tire down, which caused it to spin hard into the wall.<\/p>\n

Caution is on lap 218 as Alex Bowman in the 23 goes around, possibly with assistance from David Gilliland in the 38.<\/p>\n

Caution is out on lap 232 for debris on the track.<\/p>\n

Caution is out at lap 249 of 500 for a spin by Ryan Truex. Television is in commercial break.<\/p>\n

Caution is out on lap 315 for a hard hit by Joseph Nemecheck. TV is in commercial.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 340 for Kyle Larson spinning in turn two.<\/p>\n

Caution is out on lap 349 for debris.<\/p>\n

The MRN guys are saying it was snowing when they arrived at the race track this morning.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 410 as Brad Keselowski send Martin Truex Jr around. Looked like Martin was already getting loose at the time and It just denied him a herculean effort to save it.<\/p>\n

Carl Edwards hits Matt Kenseth on his way out of his pit box as Matt was coming in. Matt was spun completely around into his box and his crew pitted him turned backward.<\/p>\n

Caution is out on lap 458 for a spin by Carl Edwards who was in fifth.<\/p>\n

Carl Edwards clipped Dale Earnhardt Jr on the way out of his stall. Marcos Ambrose also clipped Dale Earnhardt Jr. on pit road.<\/p>\n

Kurt Busch wins after Jimmie Johnson dominated the race. He led 296 laps. Jimmie finishes second. Dale Jr. finishes third. Marcos finishes fifth.<\/p>\n

Dale Jr has retaken the point lead from Carl Edwards.<\/p>\n

Kurt said on the radio that “it’s battle time now” when talking about what happened with Brad. He says Brad turned right into his door. He says they’ve always been good, but its battle time now. That could make for an interesting rest of the season.<\/p>\n


\nSoon it will be time for the Trucks to take to the track. The sun is out in Martinsville now.<\/p>\n

All the pit crews quickly got their pit boxes down (except Kurt Busch’s crew) and the truck crews are putting theirs up.<\/p>\n
