The sun is out in Martinsville now.

All the pit crews quickly got their pit boxes down (except Kurt Busch’s crew) and the truck crews are putting theirs up.

The command to start engines has been given on MRN. On Fox Sports 1 a monster truck that looks like a dalmatian is making a run. I miss SPEED Channel.

The trucks are rolling onto the track. Some of the truck teams are still finishing the set up of their pit boxes. Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr. will lead them to the green flag.

Caution is out on lap 10 of 250 for a spin by Norm Benning.

Timothy Peters takes the lead from Bubba Wallace on the restart.

The wind has apparently picked up at the track so lots of Martinsville hotdog wrappers are blowing around.

It’s nice to watch the race and listen to the call by MRN, though they are a lot more chatty than they were during the Cup race. I miss listening to Phil Parsons and Rick Allen, but I need to get used to not hearing Rick on Fox Sports 1 anyway, since he’s going to NBC at the end of the season. (I’m afraid to wonder who will replace him.)

Caution on lap 34 for Raymond Terczak Jr who went for a spin. This caution will suffice for the competition caution NASCAR had planned.

Hornaday Jr. wins the race off pit road.

On the restart Bubba battles Horny for the lead, unsuccessfully.

It is wonderful to see Ron Hornaday leading a Truck race.

Caution is out on lap 90 of 250 due to issues between Mason Mingus and German Quiroga. Clay Greenfield may have gotten a little piece of it.

Caution is out on lap 123 of 250 for Brian Silas whose truck is on fire. TV is in commercial. Spencer Gallagher is also involved in the incident. Spencer Gallagher got hit by Caleb Holman – they were racing hard for position – and was spinning around in front of Brian Silas who had nowhere to go and ran into Gallagher, then his truck went up in flames. They’re a little worried that Brian might have hurt himself getting out of the truck. Spencer Gallagher threw his HANS device at Caleb Holman as he passed. Brian’s feet got hooked in the window net and fell on his head coming out of the truck. Brian threw his helmet at his truck.

Spencer Gallagher was a bit disturbed when the interviewed him after the wreck. To quote: “I shouldn’t a been surprised. Dude was driving like a lobotomized starfish all day…”.

Caution on lap 190 of 250 for Jeb Burton’s spin in turn two.

Caution is out on lap 225 of 250 for debris.

Caution is out on lap 235 of 250 for Hornaday goes around and kisses the outside safer barrier. German Quiroga tried to get underneath Horny and sent him around.

Hornaday is going to the pits. There are 18 trucks on the lead lap. They don’t change tires as expected, but instead try to pull off some of the sheet metal from his truck. He has to race around to get in line for the restart.

Caution is out on lap 242 of 250 for 16 year old Gray Gaulding going around after battling with 16 year old Cole Custer from California for a while. Those two drivers have a bit of history in the K&N series. This is both of their first start in the truck series.

First Green-White-Checkered attempt. Erik Jones is into the wall on the back stretch and the caution is out. Johnny Sauter drove through Erik Jones, though with the 83 on Sauter’s bumper I don’t know that Sauter had much choice.

Chase Pistone is Tiger Tom Pistone’s 30 year old grandson.

Second attempt at g-w-c. Matt Crafton leads them to the green flag with Timothy Peters on the outside. They make it to the white flag after an amazing save by Timothy Peters. John Wes Townley hit the inside wall hard as Matt crafton takes the Checker/Caution flag.

The 77 and the 17 got into it after the checker and the 17 ran into the back of the 77.
