Jimmie had to start at the end of the pack, because he wrecked trying to qualify and had to get a new car off the truck. I’m blaming Chad Knaus for all of the problems with the 48, though some of the problems are with Jimmie. The fact that he’s kept his beard throughout means something if you ask me. I hope they both get things together and win the fourth championship, but it’s looking bleak right now.
\nI spent last weekend sick – it was Richmond Saturday night – and I’m still not completely over whatever it was I caught. I was fine Wednesday at the potluck, eating and having a good time. Then suddenly my throat felt like somebody coated it with a thick layer of dust and I started coughing, a dry cough, but I couldn’t stop. Well that cough went on and on, and was followed by a fever with cold sweats and chills. I ended up leaving work on Thursday to go to the doctor, because I just continued to feel worse as the day progressed. Of course, I couldn’t see my doctor, she didn’t have anything available until Monday, but I saw Dr. Weeks who thought it might be something viral, but wasn’t sure. He also gave me a chest x-ray which he said looked good. He gave me a prescription for some cough stuff – pills and syrup and a prescription for an antibiotic. He said to give it a couple days and if I wasn’t better to get the antibiotic prescription filled and take it. I got Pooh to get it filled on Sunday, because I felt some better on Friday and then made no more progress. Once I started taking the antibiotic I got better, though I didn’t go back to work until Wednesday. It was an extremely long day and think it was a day too soon, but, I made it through the rest of the week and I’m taking it slow today.
\nTomorrow is Mother’s Day so I think we’re going to take a quick trip to Augusta tomorrow for a few hours. I’ll probably drive there and get her to drive back.
\nMy air conditioner in my car decided to not blow cool air yesterday on my way home, so that’s something else I have to figure out how to deal with. Either get it fixed, or get a new car. It seems like it’s one thing to another with my car these days and while it’s not major stuff, it’s also starting to add up. And I still don’t know what’s happening with that whole, check engine light, problem.
\nDaddy went to the doctor and they are going to do the bladder surgery to try to stop his bleeding. They’re also going to work on some obstruction he has around his prostate area. I’m rather bummed with him having to go into the hospital again and initially they were talking about scheduling it when Mommy was planning to go to Las Vegas, so the timing isn’t great, but that was tentative. I mentioned it in my weekly status report, of course Adam wasn’t actually there on Friday, but I mentioned that I might have to modify the time off because of this.
\nI cut my fingernails, some were getting very long and it’s made using this keyboard a little more palatable.
\nI keep telling myself I need to write and exercise and eat right and I can’t seem to get around to doing any of them these days. I’m trying to work out a schedule to do it where I’ll actually do it frequently, but everytime I get started with any one of them, I stop for one reason or another. I’m determined though, so I will get it together. Well right now I’m going to stop this post on lap 149 of 367; more later. 21:14<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
So tonight the race in Darlington is underway.
