Three trucks will start at the back for unapproved adjustments Layne Riggs (34), Parker Kligerman (75), and Matt Mills (42),<\/p>\n

On lap 2 of 85 we’re looking at a truck ‘bed’ and the front bumper and windshield of some truck. The shots that make me listen instead of watch arrived early. That’s a bummer, because I was looking forward to seeing this race. Checking the movie for a bit, then I will check back to see if they’re showing the trucks racing, or stupid shots.<\/p>\n

As I turn back they’re showing the inside of a truck, which spins out. Of course with the stupid shot I have no idea who is spinning or why.<\/p>\n

Spin on lap 4 of 85 by Grant Enfinger (9). Of course we were stuck with a stupid camera shot inside the truck, so it’s difficult to see what happened. Ah, the truck behind him, – can’t see the number – ran into the back of Enfinger squirrelly, which resulted in him hitting Enfinger on a corner . 66 goes through the infield. A couple of other trucks got collected. Ty Majeski (98) also got some damage. He might have been the truck that was shoved wiggling into Enfinger. The camera-work is so bad I can’t tell. Daniel Hemric (19) also has some right side damage.<\/p>\n

NRN reports Chandler Smith (38) got into Grant Enfinger (9) sending him into Jake Garcia (13).<\/p>\n

No idea who shoved Chandler Smith into Enfinger. The television broadcast doesn’t have a view good enough to see that and identify the truck – like see the number.<\/p>\n

Enfinger is driving back to the garage on lap 8 of 85 as the field restarts.<\/p>\n

The radio broadcast is a more than a lap behind the television broadcast. I’m just sitting, waiting, wishing….<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 9 of 85 for a spin by 81. Layne Riggs (34) appears to have some front left damage that is smoking. Ah, Chandler Smith (38) slammed into Riggs (34) turning him into Connor Mosack (81).<\/p>\n

Restarting on lap 13 of 85.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the restart they’ve gone to a split-screen of a truck hood, the track surface and a truck bumper. It’s a relatively short race, why can’t they just show it from the outside of the trucks?<\/p>\n

Enfinger said in his television interview, “(we) tried to get it back out there, it wouldn’t hold oil, wouldn’t hold water, so our job next week is pretty simple”.<\/p>\n

Rajah Caruth (71) wins stage one.<\/p>\n

Restarting on lap 26 of 85 with JJ Yeley (7) and Gio Ruggiero (17) up front.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 31 of 85 for Bret Holmes (1). Again with the stupid camera shots so we could see smoke in the distance of the shot, but not what happened. They replay shows the field accordionned behind the 34 who got out of shape and Holmes got turned and tagged the inside wall. They were showing a weird camera angle of the front of the field through the entirety of the incident with Holmes. They don’t seem to know what to watch, where to look, and a slow changing from a useless camera shot to the actual action on-track – usually missing it live and relying on replay. The television broadcasts of NASCAR races are awful. No one involved in making choices seems interested in the on-track racing. They’re more interested in whatever interests them – their history as a driver, their self-professed expertise in the sport, furthering their broadcast career without improving performance, making the race look like a video game, rather than an actual race, and whatever else. Dave Moody of NRN says Layne Riggs says he can see the front left tire because the crush panel has come out of the truck.<\/p>\n

Restarting on lap 35 of 85.<\/p>\n

Giovanni ‘Gio’ Ruggiero (17) wins stage two.<\/p>\n

Talladega races can be visually stimulating, when shot right. This one is a snoozer because they’re missing the racing action, as well as the ‘incident’ action.<\/p>\n

Restarting on lap 46 of 85.<\/p>\n

The pack is tight on lap 47 of 85. The television broadcast is moving away from showing it in favor of gimmicky shots. There were some interesting things seemingly building in the pack, but now the view of that has been obscured in random shots of groups of trucks – seemingly the ones convenient to the drone.<\/p>\n

The field is mostly in the inside lane currently on lap 50 of 85. This reminds me of the ARCA races after NASCAR bought them. Prior to that they were full of action and you never knew what would happen. After NASCAR bought ARCA they spent a lot of time mostly single-file saving their stuff for the end, killing the entertainment value. The drivers were conservative and the parade on track was boring.<\/p>\n

I will check back on the race a bit later. It is just painful to watch.<\/p>\n

Green flag pit stops are underway on lap 60 of 85.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 64 of 85 for Norm Benning (6) losing a motor and going up in flames. Initially the truck was smoking, then it erupted and the fire just got higher and higher. Norm got out of the truck. The medical personnel are attending to him. He appears to be on the ground by the truck. The ambulance pulled up beside the truck.<\/p>\n

Restarting on lap 70 of 85.<\/p>\n

On lap 78 of 85 the inside lane is single file with most of the trucks, but the outside lane is slowly gaining trucks and gaining ground.<\/p>\n

Checking back in on the television broadcast with five to go. I had to abandon it with seven to go due to idiot shots. Well that didn’t last long before I was stuck looking at a hood and a bumper and the side of a truck. Useless to understand what’s actually happening in the race.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 83 of 85 as Ben Rhodes (99) spins from the lead along with Luke Fenhaus (66). Good timing with that channel change. Fenhaus was on Rhodes’ bumper when he spun. He was wiggling a little bit and off Rhodes went.<\/p>\n

Restarting in overtime on lap 88 of 90.<\/p>\n

Gio Ruggiero (17) wins his first Truck Series race with consistent pushing by teammate Corey Heim (11).<\/p>\n

Heim said he thought the line of the bottom would prosper since the 17 had good speed and the 98 (Ty Majeski) said they would stay with him.<\/p>\n

The field waited until just before the finish line to try to race for the lead. What I saw was boring. I believe the race was better than what was shown on television. He said the top line was just too dangerous with people leaving us.<\/p>\n

Ty Majeski (98) said he took the safe option and stayed on the bottom due to the damage he got early.<\/p>\n

During the radio interview the reporter said Layne Riggs is wearing a yellow firesuit and it’s covered in yellow. Riggs said he could tell the team the tire wasn’t rubbing because he could see the tire and see it wasn’t rubbing.<\/p>\n
