I tried to watch the race but by lap 35 of 200 I got tired of useless shots of drivers driving from inside the car, so I’ll go back to the movie I was watching. I miss being able to actually see the cars racing on-track during the live broadcast. Shots from inside and of the inside of the car are visually boring and provide little to no information about the race. Useless.<\/p>\n

I also miss the MRN broadcast being in sync with nascar.com. It is constantly a lap or more behind nascar.com and behind the television broadcast.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 156 of 200 for a crash by Justin Bonsignore (19) with help from Nick Sanchez (48). Sanchez got into the rear of Bonsignore sending him around and hard into the inside wall.<\/p>\n

MRN’s Steve Post says Justin Allgaier’s (7) crew chief Jim Pullman is telling Allgaier they expected more cars to stay out. Since that didn’t happen Allgaier is going to get passed by a fair number of cars. They’re just hoping there will be a caution in 30 laps or so.<\/p>\n

Restarting on lap 162 of 200 with Justin Allgaier (7), Sam Mayer (41), Brandon Jones (20), Connor Zilsch (88), Sammy Smith (8), Austin Hill (21), Taylor Gray (54), Brenden Queen (11), Jesse Love (2), and Sheldon Creed (00) up front. Allgaier and Mayer stayed out while the others pitted.<\/p>\n

Allgaier gets the early lead, but is quickly passed by Brandon Jones (20) in turn 2. The rest of the top five also pass Allgaier. On lap 136 of 200 Allgaier (7) is in eleventh position.<\/p>\n

Justin Allgaier (7) finished 13th. His race was torpedoed by two bad strategy calls. He had an extended pit stop during the stage two caution to add tape to the front grill. That left him restarting in sixth position. He was unable to get back to the front of the field on the restart. On the most recent caution his crew chief kept him on the track with only one other car staying out. The cars with new tires quickly passed him.<\/p>\n

In his tv interview Brandon Jones (20) said he was so glad it went green. He said he knows the fans want to see action, but he just wanted it to go green, so he was glad.<\/p>\n

He said on the radio interview the long run speed was the strength of the JGR cars while the JRM cars had more short run speed but faded on the long run.<\/p>\n

The race was boring overall. At the start of runs there would be battles for the lead. Generally as the runs would go on, the leader would just drive away from the field, so the stages ended without competition. It looked like everybody was basically saving their equipment for the end, so there did not appear to be much action throughout the field. If there was the radio broadcast wasn’t mentioning it and since it was MRN calling the race with Joey Logano in the booth I believe there wasn’t much action throughout the field. They tend to call action wherever they see it on the track. The nascar.com Timeline stopped updating at lap 41. Since the television coverage was more aggravating than enlightening I watched a movie until the final 20 laps. Frequently the television broadcast will show the race from outside the car during the last ten or twenty laps. If there’s a chance of some actual racing action I tune in around that time. No excitement at the end, and little througho
\nut the event. Basically, just another boring Kansas race.<\/p>\n
