The race is on lap 8 of 75. So far the timeline still shows: “Live updates will begin displaying closer to the start of the race.” I wonder when the AI will decide the race has started.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 25 of 75. Matt ‘MattiD’ DiBenedetto (99) is sitting on the ground outside his car with his helmet off, taking off his shoes.<\/p>\n

Connor Zilisch (88) wins stage one 16.064 seconds ahead of second place.<\/p>\n

So far the AI hasn’t yet noticed the race has started. Finally it noticed!<\/p>\n

The pit procedure for this event will be a three minute controlled pit stops at stage breaks. The clock begins after all cars are stopped in their stall. Teams can only add fuel in stage breaks. They can’t change tires and add fuel at the same time.<\/p>\n

‘MattiD’ said there was something burning him causing him to need to hurry and get out of the car.<\/p>\n

On lap 43 of 75 there’s a fire in the grass near the track on television. Of course there’s no context as to where or why. The fire continues to burn on lap 45 of 75. It appears to be alongside a runoff road in a turn of the track. On lap 47 of 75 it appears there are safety crews working on the grass fire.<\/p>\n

On lap 49 of 75 Connor Zilisch (88) is 9.174 seconds ahead of second position.<\/p>\n

This has been much more boring than the Truck Series event.<\/p>\n

Nothing relevant seems to be happening on the track so the television broadcast is spending a lot of time showing idiotic video of fans looking bored or boring video of car interiors. Video that keeps me checking out the NWSL game which is much more interesting visually.<\/p>\n

Connor Zilisch (88) wins stage two by 8.495 seconds.<\/p>\n

MRN reports Will Brown (11) is out of the car and his first race in the Xfinity series is over. I don’t know why. The crew on the MRN broadcast seems to be missing a lot and providing little information. Brown said something is broken in the rear end. Also he said his cool suit was pumping bubbles through from the start.<\/p>\n

Restarting on lap 54 of 75. Zilisch has led all laps up to this point.<\/p>\n

On lap 63 of 75 Zilisch (88) leads by 4.636 seconds.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 63 of 75 for an incident involving Anthony Alfredo (42), Thomas Annuziata (70), and Sheldon Creed (00). Creed and Annunziata both slid off the track and spun through the infield.<\/p>\n

Restarting on lap 68 of 75.<\/p>\n

They raced into the first couple turns. Austin Hill passed Zilisch for the lead. Allgaier goes around and Zillisch has a tire rub. A group of cars went spinning off course a few seconds behind them.<\/p>\n

MRN says it’s raining on the course. The race stays green. The sun continues to shine.<\/p>\n

Jack Perkins (19) sits stopped in the grass off track lap 71 of 75.<\/p>\n

Caution comes out on lap 71 of 75 as Perkins continues to sit unmoving.<\/p>\n

Justin Allgaier (7) and Sam Mayer (41) pit following issues, as well as Brandon Jones (20), and Jack Perkins (19).<\/p>\n

MRN reports the sun is setting and shining directly into the driver’s eyes as they head into turns one through three.<\/p>\n

Restarting on lap 76 of 78 in overtime with Austin Hill (21) and Connor Zilisch (88) on the front row followed by Carson Kvapil (1), William Sawalich (18), Sammy Smith (8), Christian Eckes (16), Jesse Love (2), Nick Sanchez (48), Jeb Burton (27) and Austin Green (32).<\/p>\n

More chaos in the turn. The camera was so far away I couldn’t tell who did what, but it appears Connor Zilisch (88) is back in the lead though he missed the chicane again.<\/p>\n

It would’ve been a sham of a finish if Connor drove away from the field for the entirety of the race then lost due to bad driving by desperate others on a restart. If the race had been remotely competitive a surprise finish would’ve been fun, but that event was not at all competitive.<\/p>\n

Austin Hill (21), of course, blamed whomever stated behind hi for the melee in turn one. The same thing happened on the previous restart, but worked in his favor, though he didn’t credit anyone for getting the lead that way.<\/p>\n

That was horribly boring. Only the final two restarts were worth viewing.<\/p>\n

Jesse Love (2) and Sammy Smith (8) apparently had words with Nick Sanchez (48) after the event according to MRN during his radio interview. Sanchez said, “They can dish it out, but they can’t take it”. He said he “hates hypocrites”. He continued saying if he “has to ruffle a few feathers, so be it”. He’s “trying to win”.<\/p>\n
