If you judge the race by the dreadful television broadcast it appeared very little of interest happened. If you listened to the radio broadcast you heard about racing throughout the field. The camera work kept the viewer from having any concept of the story of the race. Either the camera was so high it just looked like a traffic chopper view of rush hour traffic, or the viewer was subjected to split-screen shots that showed something useless like the darkened interior of a car with some helmeted driver driving or the feet of a driver along with a seemingly random shot from some car’s windscreen showing very little that is discernible other than the track surface and the wall. They basically did everything but show engaging video of the race in a manner that visually tells the story of the race as it is happening.<\/p>\n

MRN reports John Hunter ‘JHN’ Nemechek’s (42) car is stalled in the Joey Logano (22) pit box on lap 345 of 400. The 22 was scheduled to come in for a stop, so the crew was frantically telling the 42 to get out of their box. JHN got the car started and reversed into his pit stall.<\/p>\n

The television broadcast chose instead to show Ryan Blaney (12) seemingly circling the track alone, then slowly rolling down pit road at 40 mph, getting service, then slowly making his way back onto the track.<\/p>\n

The televised race was terrible. The race called on the MRN broadcast was exciting at times and boring toward the end due to the big gap between the leader and the rest of the field.<\/p>\n
