Caution on lap 138 of 250 for a spin by Dean Thompson (26) and Corey Day (17).<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 202 of 250 for a crash into the outside wall by Daniel Dye (10). The replay seems to show something break under the car sending him into the outside wall. He has a flat right front and fire showing behind the wheel. MRN’s Alex Hayden says the replay shows that he lost the front right tire sending him into the wall. I saw sparks suddenly showering out the rear of the car. Possibly that was due to the tire going down and the splitter and\/or under-carriage scraping the track.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 214 of 250 for a spin by Justin Allgaier (7) due to Chastain getting sideways in the middle of a three-side situation with Connor Zilisch (88) and chasing the car into Allgaier.<\/p>\n

Restarting on lap 220 of 250 with Jesse Love (2), Sam Mayer (41), Ross Chastain (9), Connor Zilisch (88), Brandon Jones (20), William Sawalich (18), Christian Eckes (), Carson Kvapil (1), Harrison Burton (25) and Carson Hocevar (11) up front.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 222 of 250 Matt DiBenedetto (99) hits the outside wall and has a lot of damage, but the race stays green until Brandon Jones (20) spins. There’s apparently oil on the racetrack – according to both the television and radio broadcasts – which caused Jones’ spin. The television broadcast folks say DiBenedetto ran into the back of Corey Day (17) then ended up in the wall. MRN reports the oil was laid down by DiBenedetto.<\/p>\n

Congrats to Ryan Sieg (39) on managing an eighth place finish after spinning early in the event.<\/p>\n

On the television broadcast Jamie McMurray backtracked on his earlier conclusion that Matt DiBenedetto (99) was trying to wreck Corey Day (17). During the post-race show he said the whole line checked up and DiBenedetto got into the back of Day.<\/p>\n

That was boring overall. There was racing occasionally but there didn’t seem to be a lot of comers and goers. Looks like there was a caution waved at the same time as the checkered flag – the television broadcast is showing the flag-person waving the flags, but not the source of the caution. It seemed like a track position race overall with a little driving involved in avoiding the on-track issues. I have seen good races at Iowa, but the quality of the drivers was different, as well as the race’s position on the calendar. This race highlighted the skills deficits of some drivers and the lack of dedication to ‘putting on a good show by racing hard’ by others. In other words a typical late season Xfinity series snoozer.<\/p>\n
