Pursuant to the rule book, Allmendinger has the opportunity to request within the next 72 hours that his “B” sample be tested. NASCAR will follow its policies and procedures set forth in the rule book in dealing with this matter.

It is kinda amazing that the TNT broadcast seems to get worst every week! And what is the deal with Tony Stewart’s speaking of himself in the plural??? It sounds insane when someone thanks him for doing something and he responds by speaking of himself as more than one person. (i.e. “Tony, thanks for being here.” “Thanks for having us.”) It is the strangest thing I’ve ever seen, though maybe he is doing it so no one knows when he’s actually talking about himself and others – like his statement last season about getting rid of dead weight. Did he make that decision, or he and Gene Haas? When Tony says it “we” can mean any number of people. Maybe someone should buy him a dictionary for Christmas so he can look up the actual meaning of the word and use it properly. Or maybe he’s a closet Rastafarian on the d.l.. If he went with an “I and I” everybody would know, but if he just speaks of himself as we/us no one will realize he is a devotee of Jah. Hard to say why he seems unable to use the words I and me.

The one thing I like about the TNT broadcast is the “generations” segment. If we could get rid of Larry McReynolds and replace him with Dale Inman or a Wood brother and find a legitimate host it would be worthy of a weekly show. Petty Kyle actually approximates a human being during the segments.

Shortly after the green flag Larry Mc started babbling and I engaged the mute button on my television audio and increased the volume on my laptop with the browser on MRN’s Live stream. Until the TNT broadcast section is concluded I imagine I will employ this technique to hear the superior race coverage.

For 100+ laps, another boring Daytona night race; then business picked up and the drivers started racing. They also started wrecking and unfortunately the 48 ended up in the wall.

Smoke wins. Congrats to Burton on a runner-up finish!

Wreck-fest at the end – Poor Kasey Kahne! – Wrong place, wrong place.

Next week: Loudon

GO 48!!!!

Kurt Busch won a mostly boring Nationwide race.
