In the end, it seems Jimmie Johnson just lost concentration.

Greg Biffle had a plan – he always does, but I don’t think his plan made the difference in the end. Jimmie led for a long time. Biffle made a pass, not unexpected. The pass setup a potentially exciting finish. Unfortunately, Jimmie scraped the wall and limped to the finish leaving Biffle without challenge. Ho Hum. So Biffle won.

The announcers mentioned that Biffle is complaining that’s he’s not getting enough coverage as the points leader. You know, someone ought to mention to Biffle that points mean a lot, but on television personality counts for a lot also. He’s a bit lacking in that department. So while he many get a lot of mentions, NO ONE wants to turn off/anaesthetize a huge chunk of the audience by allowing him to ramble on and on about his self-proclaimed greatness, this early in the season.

Apparently Stenhouse won the Nationwide race. I fell asleep on that one.

In more exciting racing news Kasey Kahne won the premier Truck Race at Rockingham Speedway. The race was a fun and Nelson Piquet Jr.’s mistake in the pits was a bummer.

Next week: Kansas
I expect this race to be more of the same. That race is only rarely interesting. It seems the actual on-track action has gotten quite boring at a lot more tracks since the removal of the wing and the re-introduction of the spoiler. The drivers complained about the debris cautions, but at least they break up the monotony.

Night racing in Texas.
