They also had an Chris Myers interview with NASCAR President Steve Phelps. Why do they have the loud music playing during the Chris Myers – Steve Phelps interview? It was too loud and thoroughly unnecessary. Was the interview so bad\/boring that it needed a music track and crowd sounds? I will look around the internet to see if I can find a transcript of the interview. I was interested in what Phelps had to say, but unable to tolerate trying to tolerate the obnoxious music.<\/p>\n

Green flag pit stops are underway from lap 17 of 110.<\/p>\n

On lap 21 of 110 the leader is 3.926 seconds ahead of the second position car.<\/p>\n

‘Desperate’ Denny Hamlin wins stage one 2.747 seconds ahead of teammate Martin ‘MTJ’ Truex Jr (19).

The new road course rules are in place, so the race continues under the green flag at the end of the stage.<\/p>\n

Caution on lap 50 of 110 for a loose tire.<\/p>\n

Kyle ‘KyBu’ Busch (8) wins stage two 1.57 seconds ahead of second place.<\/p>\n

‘Desperate’ (11) brings out the caution on lap 91 of 110 spinning eliminating MTJ’s (19) 4.395 second lead.<\/p>\n

Erik Jones is creeping along the track after spinning on lap 99 of 110. He appears to be rolling more quickly as the lap continues. The race stays green.

\nRyan Blaney (12) spins on lap 104 of 110 once off the front bumper of Joey Logano (22) then a few turns later off the front bumper of Chase Briscoe (14).<\/p>\n

MTJ (19) takes the white flag 2.04 seconds ahead of KyBu (8).<\/p>\n

Martin ‘MTJ’ Truex Jr (19) wins 2.979 seconds ahead of former teammate Kyle ‘KyBu’ Busch (8). Truex led 51 of 110 laps.<\/p>\n

Terrible television coverage of a boring event.<\/p>\n

Most years I really lament the end of the FOX Sports portion of the NASCAR season. This year they have been just as bad as the NBC broadcasts, so I don’t remotely feel a sense of loss at the end of their coverage.<\/p>\n

Overall nothing much happened on-track. The television broadcast spent a lot of time showing bumpers out of windshields. If there was on-track action the tv folks couldn’t find it, or didn’t bother to show it.<\/p>\n

Chris Buescher (17) mentioned he was slowed by the retaliation action going on in front of him. Now that ‘Desperate’ whined and NASCAR bowed to his wishes it seems like every driver feels like they can publicly call for punishment of another driver and get their way. NASCAR ignored Austin Dillon’s (3) call for Austin Cindric (2) to be suspended. I’m guessing Chris Buescher’s complaint will have even less possibility to succeed now that the drivers are proving NASCAR opened a can of worms by seeming to respond to Hamlin’s tantrum. NASCAR made a mistake by not penalizing Hamlin in that situation to avoid this.<\/p>\n

NASCAR has an off-week next weekend.<\/p>\n
