He was talking much smack on the radio after the incident and to Ryan when he approached Gibbs during the weather delay.

Justin Allgaier (7) led 62 laps.

Noah Gragson (9) led 51 laps and won both stages.

That was a decent race for an Xfinity Series race. The finish was predictable – unfortunately – and Ty Gibbs running around saying “Let’s Go” as he fetched the checkered flag and at the end of his interview was distasteful with Brandon Brown in the field and the phrase “Let’s go Brandon” used as a vulgar insult of the president. Unfortunately Ryan Sieg has little to no recourse after being used up on the track since he isn’t related to JGR owner Joe Gibbs. Likely if Sieg attempted to handle the wrong driver-to-driver in the future NASCAR would penalize him. When he attempted it during the race they posted Sieg to pit for repairs. If he tries it again he will likely be parked for several races. Gibbs can afford to get parked, wrecked or whatever with his grandfather footing the bill. Family-owned RSS Racing can barely afford to make every race and certainly can’t afford to get used up by a rich kid, nor can he afford to get penalized for treating the 18-year-old like a professional race car driver. So he will have to accept second-class treatment. While it might be a bit of karma at play in the situation; the injustice and the entitled behavior bothers me. For a change I don’t feel like I totally wasted my time watching the race – which makes it a much better Xfinity Series race than most of the past decade – it wasn’t a great race. It was a predictable finish. I called it as soon as I saw the line-up for the final restart.

During the race Joey Logano said only the top eight cars had a chance of winning the race. I find that disheartening, because it basically means the other 30 cars in the field are just there for window dressing. NASCAR needs to provide more options for those 30 cars to win races. Watching the guy with the most money and the best methods of staying just within the rules to win every week can become boring at best and repellant at worst.

I enjoyed Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney in the booth. They were entertaining and, occasionally, enlightening. Adam Alexander was a place-holder as always. The spectacle of snow in Las Vegas was amusing. The racing might tempt me to buy a ticket to my local track, Atlanta Motor Speedway, but the weather and the winner absolutely deter me.

Motorsport News:

Next Gen has changed the game –
