They’re on lap 30 of 109 and PRN is still doing the rundown in preparation for the restart. The past few PRN broadcasts have been similar – issues with the audio being way behind and the audio dropping out.

On lap 31 of 109 the PRN broadcast are just calling the green flag for the restart, before it quickly drops again.

Caution on lap 33 of 109 for a smoky spin by Chase Briscoe (14).

Restarting on lap 35 of 109.

Kyle Busch (18) wins stage two.

Restarting on lap 53 of 109.

Caution on lap 54 of 109 for a crash involving Chase Elliott (9), Kevin Harvick (4), and Cole Custer (41). PRN reports Chase says the track bar is broken. PRN reported contact between Harvick and Elliott, then Chase crashed into the wall. He then attempted to continue and was hit by Custer.

Jeff Hammond of PRN says ‘he punted him’ indicating the in-car camera shows that Harvick punted Elliott. They, the PRN guys, mention Chase Elliott has continued to distance himself from the incident at Bristol while Kevin Harvick has been bitter and throwing insults out about Chase. Harvick now appears to have gotten his revenge.

Restarting on lap 57 of 109.

AJ Allmendinger (16) heads to the engine on lap 59 of 109 with engine issues.

Caution on lap 86 of 109 for debris as Chase Elliott’s damaged bumper cover flies off.

Some pit; some stay out.

Restarting on lap 89 of 109.

Bit of an incident on lap 89 of 109 as Brad ‘It’ Keselowski (2) spins out in the pack and gets tapped by a couple of car, but they all get going in the right direction without bringing out a caution.

Caution on lap 92 of 109 for a visit to the wall by Corey LaJoie (7) and Joey Hand (52).

Restarting on lap 95 of 109.

Caution on lap 97 of 109 for Kevin Harvick (4) crashing into the wall. There’s a fire under the hood. The AMR safety team quickly arrives and hurries Harvick’s exit from the car. Harvick locks up the brakes resulting in a little contact from Christopher Bell (20) sending Happy (4) into the wall.

Restarting on lap 101 of 109.

Martin ‘MTJ’ Truex Jr (19) spins on lap 104 of 109.

William Byron spins on lap 107 of 109.

Kyle Larson (5) wins holding off Tyler Reddick (8).

Busy but boring event without a satisfying finish. Instant karma for Kevin Harvick who dumped Chase Elliott putting Elliott’s play-off run in jeopardy. Harvick then crashed himself out of the race and out of the play-offs a bit later.

PRN is waxing rhapsodic about the glories of Kyle Larson. I guess this is the portion of the broadcast targeted at white folks, because the only people I can imagine their glowing reviews will impress, or even be believed by, are people who look like them. The peoples who were disparaged by his behavior will never encounter the guy they meet, because they don’t look like those guys and they don’t provide a leg up in his career. Once they were required for his career goals he began to spew the necessary talking points, without an iota of sincerity. They attempt to sell Kyle Larson as hard as they sell the on-track action. That is apparently a part of their job. Since they don’t have a legit on-air representative of the offended group – and for the record Brad Daugherty does not count – their words are tone-deaf and offensive.

The following drivers move on to the next round:

Kyle Larson (5)

Denny Hamlin (11)

Martin Truex Jr (19)

Ryan Blaney (12)

Kyle Busch (18)

Chase Elliott (9)

Joey Logano (22)

Brad Keselowski (2)

The following drivers do not advance:

Kevin Harvick (4)

William Byron (24)

Christopher Bell (20)

Alex Bowman (48)

Motorsport News:

Valtteri Bottas Collects 1st Win of 2021 in Turkish Grand Prix.

Did Mercedes cost Hamilton a podium at the Turkish Grand Prix?

Vettel: Failed slick tyre switch was my call.

Hamilton’s tyres were ‘right on the limit’ – Pirelli.

Hight paces Funny Car qualifying at FallNationals.

Gary Nelson Honored with Smokey Yunick Award.

Next Gen Roval Test Entry List.

Rick Ware Racing Forming an Alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing, Roush Yates Engines for 2022.

Ty Dillon Driving for GMS Racing in 2022 Cup Series Season.

NASCAR removing extra rumble strips at Charlotte.

AJ Allmendinger Becomes Winningest Road Couse Driver in Xfinity Series History by Winning at Charlotte ROVAL.

Tommy Milner, Nick Tandy Win Michelin GT Challenge at VIR.

Dillon Machavern Wins Pole in Wreck-Strewn Virginia Is For Racing Lovers Grand Prix Qualifying.

Next Race: Texas

GO 9 and 48!!!!

Thirty-nine cars in the field today.
