The blimp shot is quite smoggy at times. Looks like they’re running in fog. NBCSN has been wearing out the gimmick shots – lots of bumper cam, side cam, windscreen cam, all the useless shots.<\/p>\n
Caution on lap 92 of 267 for a spin by Joey Gase (15) just after William ‘WilliB’ Byron (24) takes the lead from teammate Kyle Larson. NBCSN has horrible replays of the incident. Gase’s left rear wheel came off the car sending him into the outside wall, then he bounced off and slid down the track. The camera angles are either too far away to determine what’s happening, showing mostly sun glare, or after the incident is underway. They need someone who knows how to shoot the race. Then again they need someone who knows how to broadcast the race, how to shoot the race, and how to call the race.<\/p>\n

I would prefer if the Cup races were divided differently to alleviate some of the long ‘logging laps’ sections and provide some interesting on-track action. At lap 129 of 267 the field appears to be in logging laps mode which makes for snooze-worthy television.<\/p>\n

The PRN guys are almost praying for a late caution to give them something to call in this event. They’ve resorted to calling the differential between first and second which is at 1.149 on lap 259 of 267 with 13 cars on the lead lap.<\/p>\n
Other than the Joey Gase (15) crash nothing much has happened in this race since the first stage.<\/p>\n
Alex Palou won the IndyCar championship in his second season in the series today. Congrats to Chip Ganassi Racing and Alex Palou.<\/p>\n
As Hamlin takes the white flag Elliott is .337 behind Hamlin.<\/p>\n
Elliott runs out of laps so Hamlin finishes first.<\/p>\n
After the first stage that was terribly boring. I would like that time back. Awful event – not much of a race after the first stage. I think I would’ve enjoyed being at the track watching the event. I believe there may have been a little more on-track action than was shown on NBCSN, but I also believe it would’ve gotten more than a little monotonous once everybody went into lap logging mode. NASCAR needs to improve the mile-and-a-half package to add parity and excitement to the on-track product.<\/p>\n
