The stages for this race are 80-80-107. Joey Logano (22) will lead the field to green. Kevin ‘KHarv’ Harvick has the outside pole position. Kansas is typically a boring race, so my anticipation level is low. I rather expect the race to be similar to the parade laps currently taking place, just faster.

The cars are scrubbing their tires like its a mid-race restart. I guess they saw the start of yesterday’s Xfinity series race.

The track is kind of dusty. I can hardly wait for FOX to get the NASCAR broadcasts back. I miss their camera shots. Better watching. Anda already we’re stuck with a stupid shot looking out the windshield of the car.

Daniel Suarez hit the outside wall on lap 3 and is taking the car in to the pits.

On lap 12 of 267 Regan Smith has taken the 95 car to the pits after tagging the wall.

Alex Bowman (88) apparently got into Daniel Suarez sending him into the wall. Alex has some damage from the incident.

He’s used the wall again on lap 24 of 267 as he completed a pass for the seventh position.

Ross Chastain (15) tagged the wall and is headed to pit road on lap 40 of 267 as green flag pit stops continue.

Darrell ‘Bubba’ Wallace (43) seems to have had a severe tire rub or some issue on the left rear wheel that brought him back to pit road with a lot of smoke coming from the rear left on lap 55 of 267.

Caution is out on lap 56 of 267. It appears the 24 of William Byron has blowed up.

He dropped a lot of liquid on the track on his way to pit road resulting in an extended caution.

Restarting on lap 64 of 267 with Ryan ‘Son’ Blaney (12) and Aric ‘Afterburner’ Almirola (10) up front.

On lap 72 of 267 Joey Logano retakes the lead from Blaney.

Joey Logano (22) easily wins stage 1.

Restarting on lap 87 of 267 with Joey Logano and Kevin ‘KHarv’ Harvick (4) up front.

KHarv clinched a spot in the next round on point as a result of getting stage points.

During green flag pit stops on lap 121 of 267 Paul Menard (21) ran into Trevor Bayne (6). Paul was leaving his pit box as Trevor was entering his. Paul’s right front clipped Trevor’s left rear. Afterburner (10) and Kurt ‘KuBu’ Busch (41) got pit road penalties for uncontrolled tires.

On lap 154 of 267 the NASCAR social media thing is reporting that drivers are complaining about debris in turns 3 and 4. The race remains green. I’m guessing NASCAR feels like they can take care of the debris at the end of the stage.

KHarv wins stage two.

I wonder if they’re going to start racing around lap 247. So far, as usual, there seem to be about four fast cars in the field and everybody else following them. At least yesterday there were a few restarts to provide the possibility of something interesting occurring. This one is just loads of follow the leader. Another snoozer of a Cup race.

Restarting on lap 167 of 267 with KHarv and Chase Elliott (9) out front.

Kyle ‘KyBu’ Busch (18) and Joey Logano (22) clinched after receiving stage points.

Ryan Blaney has tapped the wall a couple of times on lap 207 of 267 and is falling back through the field losing play-offs points.

Looks like green flag pit stops are underway again on lap 213 of 267.

KHarv speeding on pit road. Clint ‘Drunk Daddy’ Bowyer (14) uncontrolled tire.

On lap 146 the 48 of Jimmie Johnson is on pit road after side-swiping the wall. Rusty Wallace on MRN says the right front tire was flat which probably caused him to hit the wall.

The drivers are apparently begging for a debris caution on the radio. We remain green.

KyBu is chasing down leader Chase Elliott on lap 257 of 267.

Chase Elliott (9) takes the white flag.

Chase Elliott wins!

Drivers Eliminated:

Ryan Blaney (12)

Brad Keselowski (2)

Kyle Larson (42)

Alex Bowman (88)

Next Race: Martinsville

GO 48!!!!

Another sunny, breezy day in Kansas though I saw a few folks with jackets, so apparently a chilly day in Kansas for the cut-off race for this round.
