Yesterday’s on-track activities were cancelled due to inclement weather. At 1244 PRN is certain the start will be delayed. A couple of people have mentioned that they’ll get the race in at some point today or Monday or Tuesday so it seems there are a number of people who are not confident the rain will move out today. Ryan Newman (31) mentioned NASCAR has scheduled two competition cautions for today. He also mentioned that Martin Truex Jr (78) will drop to the back of the field for the start. The rain has increased. The wind and the rain are remnants of Hurricane Gordon. The competition cautions will be at laps 10 and 30. The stages will be 50-50-60 for the today’s race.<\/p>\n
Regan Smith is substituting for Kasey Kahne in the Leavine Family Racing 95 car. He hasn’t been in the car for seventeen months.<\/p>\n
At 1327 edt one of the PRN reporters said they’re trying to dry the track by 1430 today “which probably will not happen”.<\/p>\n
Wow Marty Snider noticed he was using television production speak instead of ordinary words during and interview and corrected himself. He said ‘b-roll’ which is a tv term and then corrected himself to a commonly used word for that. I’m shocked and I hope he teaches other people to do the same.<\/p>\n

At 1408 the teams are breaking down their tents and rolling away their tires, so PRN is saying it looks pretty bleak at this point for getting the race in today.<\/p>\n
Jayski is predicting the race will take place tomorrow at 1300.<\/p>\n
The Xfinity teams are complaining that the postponement allows them no turnaround time. They may get the reschedule to October 13 they wanted.<\/p>\n

There’s another hurricane in the Atlantic that Hammond says the teams are already thinking about, because it may affect the teams leaving North Carolina next weekend. They’re also trying to work out whether the Cup teams will have the truck drivers drive to Indy today – swap the cars out tomorrow – so they can drive on to Vegas. They’ve got to figure out accommodations for the pit crews – whether they can get hotel rooms for them tonight or fly them home tonight and back in tomorrow.<\/p>\n
Doug Rice is saying its evident they’re going to call the race for the day, but they’re going to stay on-air until they officially call the race.<\/p>\n
It’s official PRN will be on at 9:30am for the pre-race show for the Xfinity Race, then the Brickyard 400 starts at 1300.<\/p>\n
