Elliott Sadler (1 JR Motorsports) has announced he’s retiring from full-time racing at the end of this season. I’ll definitely miss him. Elliott was one of my early faves when I started watching NASCAR. At the rate they’re retiring soon adults are only going to have the choice of watching the kids learn how to race or finding another sport to watch. I’m a fan of some of the young drivers, but only a few of them. Most of them aren’t interesting drivers – just reckless. And they certainly don’t bring personality to the table. They make me think of movie cops – ‘nothing to see here, move along people’. Kasey Kahne has also announced he’s leaving. Gosh I miss the MRN rss feed. I used to use it as my screensaver so I always saw the latest NASCAR headlines at a glance. I need to see if I can find the thing I used previously to set that up. I look forward to the time after all the changes and hope things are better – much better – than they are today.<\/p>\n
NASCAR has also moved up the Cup race due to potential weather tomorrow.<\/p>\n
KyBu, unsurprisingly has the pole for the Xfinity race.<\/p>\n
The stands look a bit sparse. I wonder if they didn’t get the early start news out to fans.<\/p>\n
Elliott is the Grand Marshal for the race and he has a microphone in the car and gave the command. Good Job Elliott!!!<\/p>\n
The stages will be 85-85-130.<\/p>\n
Kyle ‘KyBu’ Busch (18) and Christopher Bell (20) will lead the field to the green flag.<\/p>\n
Them and the stupid camera shots. We were looking at the sides of cars. Now the back of cars. Thank goodness I’m listening to the radio to ‘see’ what’s going on on the track, because the stupid-camera-tricks make it virtually impossible to actually watch the race and see what’s actually going on. When a driver is interviewed in the care center and asked what happened, he always says he needs to see the replay to find out. For some insane reason the person calling the camera shots doesn’t<\/p>\n

‘Kutey’ Kyle Larson (42) gets the stage win after quickly passing Cole Custer(00).<\/p>\n
Most of the rest of the top 5 are Cup drivers along with Elliott Sadler (1) and Daniel Hemric (21)<\/p>\n

Justin ‘Dewy Alligator’ Allgaier (7) gave him a bit of a run for his money during the stage.<\/p>\n

TV has mostly been showing battles in various locations, but ignoring the front of the field since there’s no real competition. What a boring outing.<\/p>\n
Ty Dillon (3) is a menace out there tonight. He hit Cole Custer and sent him along the fence. The he hit Matt Tifft (2) sending him along the fence and joining him there. He’s finally take that car to the garage.<\/p>\n
Look like with 15 to go the Cup drivers have decided its time to make a run toward the front. Justin Allgaier is hanging in there. Chase Elliott (23) keeps trying to take that second position. Joey Logano (22) is battling Christopher Bell for 4th position.<\/p>\n
Caution on lap 297 of 300 for a spin by Daniel Hemric (6) ends Kyle Larson’s 6 second lead.<\/p>\n
Overtime.<\/p>\n
Chase Elliott (23) made a lonely pit stop giving up his top five position.<\/p>\n
Kutey Kyle and Dewy Alligator will lead the field to green.<\/p>\n
Daniel Hemric seems to be having trouble with his steering causing the lights to come back on on the pace car after they’d been given the one to go. A few safety vehicles have pulled up to assist him. He had most of the tire studs gone and the wheel was pushed into the motor a little bit so he couldn’t drive it further. Finally it was taken away by a wrecker.<\/p>\n
Jeff Green’s car is sitting steaming at the start-finish line. A wrecker has come to his aid.<\/p>\n
Seems like Justin Allgaier had quite a drive there, though we were stuck watching his hands on the steering wheel so I’m not sure what actually happened other than him steering a lot – fighting with the wheel.<\/p>\n
Larson crosses the finish line in the lead.<\/p>\n
Christopher Bell cost Dewy second. Justin finished third.<\/p>\n
That was boring.<\/p>\n
