{"id":1216,"date":"2018-02-17T17:53:00","date_gmt":"2018-02-17T22:53:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/briari.net\/blog\/?p=1216"},"modified":"2018-02-18T22:54:14","modified_gmt":"2018-02-19T03:54:14","slug":"2018-nascar-xfinity-series-race-one-daytona","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/briari.net\/blog\/2018\/02\/2018-nascar-xfinity-series-race-one-daytona\/","title":{"rendered":"2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race One Daytona"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lots of fluffy white clouds in Daytona today.<\/p>\n<p>Caution lap 11 as Austin Cindric (60) got into the 18 bounced off and collected Ryan Reed (16) and Brandon Jones (19) and Tyler Reddick (9).<\/p>\n<p>Stage 1 concludes with a couple of cup drivers in the top 2 spots followed by Justin Allgaier and Elliott Sadler.<\/p>\n<p>Stage 2 concludes with four cup guys in the top spots followed by Garrett Smithley and Ryan Truex.<\/p>\n<p>Caution with 38 to go (120 laps) for fluid on the track possibly from Gray Gaulding&#8217;s car.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Chase Elliott and Elliott Sadler got black flagged for pushing in a turn and have to serve a pass-thru penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Wreck with 22 laps to go includes Daniel Hemric 21, the 38, the 21,<\/p>\n<p>Ryan Reed got into Ryan Truex, who lost it then got back up on the track as Cole Custer lost it got into the 38 who spun in front of and collected Daniel Hemric (21), Brandon Brown, Joey Gase, Spencer Boyd, among others. Ryan Reed has been black flagged for blocking and will have to start at the tail-end of the field.<\/p>\n<p>Caution with 14 to go as the 0 of Garrett Smithley and the 5 of Michael Annett go spinning through the grass.<\/p>\n<p>Caution with 10 to go for the 01 of Vinnie Miller getting into the wall and leaving part of his bumper on the track.<\/p>\n<p>Restarting with 5 laps to go Cup drivers in the lead.<\/p>\n<p>With three to go Elliott gets spun out of the pack bringing out the caution. He doesn&#8217;t hit anything.<\/p>\n<p>Restarting in overtime.<\/p>\n<p>Larson spun and the field is wrecking behind him<\/p>\n<p>Larson, Almirola, Chase Elliott, Logano, the 10, the 3, Jeremy Clements, Dylan Lupton, the 2, Suarez, 15, all seem to have been involved. More than a dozen cars involved according to MRN. Matt Tifft, Joe Nemecheck &#8211; who was having a good run, Austin Dillon, Joey Gase, Logano, Afterburner, Ryan Reed, got some of that. Moody is estimating 12-15 cars at the minimum were damaged.<\/p>\n<p>Suarez and Reed will lead the field to the green flag for another overtime restart.<\/p>\n<p>Suarez is stopped on the track. A wrecker has come up to give him a push.<\/p>\n<p>Now Ryan Reed and Tyler Reddick will lead the field to the green followed by Spencer Gallagher and Ryan Truex.<\/p>\n<p>They believe the car is out of fuel.<\/p>\n<p>The 23 of Spencer Gallagher spins out bringing out the caution.<\/p>\n<p>Restarting with Ryan Truex and Tyler Reddick leading them to the green.<\/p>\n<p>They&#8217;re single file this time at the front of the field.<\/p>\n<p>Another wreck before they reach the flag as the 19 ends up in the infield.<\/p>\n<p>The 9 of Tyler Reddick is out front and his crew chief was very demonstrative in the pit box.<\/p>\n<p>White and caution flag are out. No white flag had been displayed when the caution flag was displayed. So another overtime restart.<\/p>\n<p>There seems to be a question of whether they&#8217;ll all have enough fuel and if it can get to the pick up.<\/p>\n<p>This time Reddick and Reed will lead the field to green with Elliott Sadler and Ryan Truex behind them.<\/p>\n<p>Chase Elliott and Kaz Grala and Garrett Smithley and Ross Chastain follow them.<\/p>\n<p>Chase Elliott in the 88 is in the pits getting gas. The right side window fell out and he has to get it replaced.<\/p>\n<p>The new window is in and they&#8217;re sending him out before the field is back around.<\/p>\n<p>Caution flag 12 is out for the 25 of Dylan Lupton beat up and smoking before they get to the stripe. He hit the outside wall hard.<\/p>\n<p>This time Tyler Reddick and Ryan Reed will lead the field to green.<\/p>\n<p>Red flag is out 1746. Caution is out 1754. They&#8217;ve put lap 140 on the board. 20 above the expected laps.<\/p>\n<p>White flag with Reddick in the lead.<\/p>\n<p>Tyler Reddick barely beat Elliott Sadler to the line by inches. To the 1\/1000th of the second its a dead heat.
