2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Five Fontana

201403222008724883122I missed most of this race. The Nationwide race was so boring it kind of soured me on watching the race. Kyle Larson won that one, beating out Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick who were strong all day. Good for him. I was surprised.

Something is wrong with Denny Hamlin causing him to be unable to drive this weekend, so Sideways Sam Hornish is in the 11 car this weekend. Apparently he’s having vision issues and could not get medically cleared. Gotta find out more about that. Continue reading “2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Five Fontana”

2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Four Bristol

201403161606579785171Rainy Sunday in Bristol. Entirely too much Michael Waltrip, but then that’s always the case. Unfortunately Brad Keselowski had time to sit on the desk and yak. He’s become so fake – almost as fake as Michael Waltrip. Sigh. It was nice to see an ‘interview’ between Darrell Waltrip and Kasey Kahne. It was just too short. So NASCAR is going to try to get the race halfway through since the forecast calls for rain through Tuesday or so. Continue reading “2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Four Bristol”

2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Three Las Vegas

las-vegas-heroRace three of the 2014 season. The first mile and a half race. Yesterday’s Nationwide Race was boring. Keselowski won. Big whoop. He held off Kyle Busch. Yawn. Joey Logano has the pole for the Cup race. The sky in Vegas is a beautiful blue. The race command was given by ‘the most interesting man in the world’, but since he was introduced by Robin Leach, and his ‘real name’ given, plus he didn’t get to give one of his most interesting gimmicks, the call was rather lame. It seemed a more interesting notion than it turned out to be. Continue reading “2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Three Las Vegas”

2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Two Phoenix

201403030034020405114Rain shortened the boring Nationwide Race yesterday which was no big loss. I was okay missing some of KyBu’s domination. There wasn’t a lot of relevant action. Yeah the kids were battling insanely, but they’re rookies and very young. I don’t expect anything else, so its less than thrilling. To me it is the equivalent of watching 8 through 10 year olds battle for an adult’s attention. BOOOOORRRRRIIIINNNNNGGGG!!! The sun is shining in Phoenix today. 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race One Daytona 500

a81efb3083790022f96ce5608609f307_crop_northUgly clouds as the pre-race ceremonies begin for the Daytona 500. At least Michael Waltrip is in a car and not on the desk. Small blessings. Looks like rain to me.

I’m less than excited about this race. Paul Menard said he was going to take care of his car for 490 miles and race the last ten. Well that sounds less than thrilling. Moody spent time during the week trying to convince his listeners that drivers riding around for the majority of the race and racing for the finish was the only reasonable thing to do and therefore a good thing. Oddly I thought the people who bought tickets bought tickets to the Daytona 500 Sprint Cup RACE that is contested by 43 PROFESSIONAL RACE CAR DRIVERS.
