It’s a lovely sunny day, as Kevin Harvick leads the field to the green flag in Dover. The high temperature is expected to be 58 degrees. It was quite breezy before the start of the race. You’d have to pay me to sit in those grandstands. Now, that bubble above the track, I might sit up there – protected from the elements, but not in the wind and chill. It rained overnight so there will be a competition caution at lap 40. The qualifying order was set from first round practice speeds so some great drivers are buried in the field. NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Ten Talladega
29 years to the day after his father won the pole at Talladega, rookie Chase Elliott will lead the field to the green flag. Great going rookie!
Caution on lap 50 of 188 for Dale Earnhardt Jr losing it and getting into the wall. Kasey Kahne was caught up in it as did Matt DiBenedetto.. Looks like David Gilliland got some damage in that incident also. Both Dale Jr and Kasey have heavy damage. Continue reading “NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Ten Talladega”
NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Nine Talladega
Matt Tifft leads the field to the green flag.
Caution lap 31 of 113 Chris Cockrum hit the inside wall hard! Joey Gase got a piece of it too. Cockrum is out of Conyers, Georgia. Both drivers leave their cars under their own steam. Continue reading “NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Nine Talladega”
2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Nine Richmond
Caution on lap 157 for debris.
Caution on lap 195 for debris. Mike Joy mentioned that Reed Sorenson cut down a tire several laps ago and it is apparently the source of the debris. As we’ve now been told, on lap 197, there’s a brake duct on the track that is the source of the debris.
I just got an offer to go see London Is Falling, so I’ll have to find out what happens with the Richmond race later. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Nine Richmond”
2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Eight Bristol
Beautiful, clear blue sky day in Bristol this morning. I’m curious about the temperatures. It’s rather chilly here in the Atlanta metro area and quite breezy. Spring weather isn’t racing weather for me so far this season overall. They’re saying its going to be 70 degrees when racing starts. They only have a 5 mph wind. So it sounds like the weather in Bristol is nicer than here. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Eight Bristol”
