In this week’s penalty news, Penske’s penalties were basically upheld, though the suspensions were reduced. JGR’s penalties were basically overturned by the NASCAR Appeals Board dropping the points hit from 50 to 23, returning the race win, lowering the suspensions from 6 races to 1. 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Ten Talladega

One of my previously favorite weekends starts off windy and rainy. The racing has been good enough the past few weeks that I am actually excited about the upcoming races! Talladega has been boring the past few years – since Tony Stewart led the single file parade in protest of last minute rules about pushing. I no longer look forward to ‘Dega (which provided the best races of the year to me). I hope the racing lives up to the past and I hope the weather holds off on Sunday. 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Nine Richmond
Richmond. Night Race. More action than the past few Richmond night races. I wasn’t tempted to fall asleep for a change. Nice race. Seems like the drivers were trying hard at the end of the race.
Denny Hamlin is bemoaning the fact he’s not cleared to drive tonight. I wish he’d go home and HEAL!!! For the sake of all that is just and holy – take care of your future Denny Hamlin! Sit your John Brown hind parts down and allow your body to heal fully before engaging in your very risky occupation. Dude!!! Have a little common sense – even if you have to borrow it!!! 2013 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rockingham
It’s a cloudy day in Rockingham. It is raining here in Atlanta (and in Augusta on Master’s Sunday). No rain in Rockingham though. Joey Logano has flown in from Texas for the truck race. While I love Rick Allen and Phil Parsons in the booth, I would like to say a couple of things:
