Too many commercials on FOX Sports One (and Two)! It makes watching difficult. As a viewer I feel I am constantly missing action on track due to the quantity of commercials. It is wonderful to start the day with NASCAR on television, in spite of all of the commercials. It’s even nicer to listen to Rick, Phil and Hammond call it. Happy 50th birthday Kenny Wallace!! Too many commercials on FOX Sports One (and Two)! It makes watching difficult. As a viewer I feel I am constantly missing action on track due to the quantity of commercials. I found out on Wednesday it was more than just a feeling. I was listening to the radio broadcast during Wednesday night’s Bristol Truck race. Action was occurring on track and commercials were running on television. Continue reading “TV Ranting”
2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twenty-Three Michigan

A big thank you Robin Miller for saying, on the final episode of Wind Tunnel, “I hate Michael Waltrip’s act.” So do I and I was wondering if anyone else noticed it. Sadly Michael’s presence on television is growing while his talent/broadcasting ability doesn’t.
FOX Sports One is on the air. Whoop-tee-damn-do to quote Archie Bunker. Other than costing the viewer more and airing a whole lotta crap I choose NOT to watch on the ESPNs and NBCSports I don’t see the point. Just my opinion. In spite of all of the ads and stories assuring me that I will still get my NASCAR coverage I am concerned about how much racing I won’t see. 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twenty-Two Watkins Glen
Friday practice day at Watkins Glen – rain rain go away! It’s raining at The Glen. Everything on track is postponed until the afternoon when the front should be past. The front passed and both Sprint Cup and Nationwide were able to get in some practice time – though the practice time for Nationwide was shortened. 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twenty-One Pocono
Friday race – ARCA . The starting lineup was determined by owner’s points since practice and qualifying were rained out yesterday and heavy fog precluded action on the track this morning. The kids managed to do 49 of 50 laps without a caution. A couple of cars wrecked hard on the last lap. Corey LaJoie won the race by luck. He was wandering around in second place, way behind the leader, when the leader’s car broke and he had to pit. LaJoie was supposed to start at the back of the field for an unapproved adjustment according to Phil Parsons, but instead started behind Chase Elliott. He followed Chase through the field until Chase had a tire issue. It was a relatively boring race in spite of Rick Allen’s yelling as though the racing was hot and heavy. Boring, like Pocono can be, but short, so endurable. That Corey LaJoie is lucky. Sadly I think he thinks he’s good. Oh well. Frank Kimmel is still leading the points. Frank finished second.
