201311101900684174216201311082127772766592The weather has been gorgeous in Phoenix, though the track has given the drivers a few problems. A full weekend of racing for a change with the Truck Series on Friday night, Nationwide Series on Saturday afternoon, and Cup Racing on Sunday.

Jimmie Johnson qualified on the pole for Sunday’s race. Matt Kenseth will start 14th.

2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirty-Four Texas

201311031817658675307fullBeautiful day at Texas Motor Speedway. Clouds pass over occasionally. The time changed last night so we’ll probably hit darkness before the end of the race. Carl Edwards leads them to the green flag. 10 laps in Jimmie Johnson takes over the lead from Edwards. Jimmie and Matt Kenseth come into this race tied at the top of the points standings. 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirty-Three Martinsville

darrellwallacejrwins1sttruckracemartinsville2013-10-26CONGRATULATIONS to Darrell Wallace Jr. on winning his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race driving the Kyle Busch Motorsports #54 Toyota Tundra!!!

The race was entertaining. Goodyear has brought a compound that’s causing massive tire wear. Also, the temperature has dropped over the past few days – massive arctic blast moved across the eastern portion of the country – and between the tires and the cold, the track isn’t taking rubber.

2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirty-Two Talladega

201310201636598189004Jeb Burton qualified on the pole for the trucks.

Sprint Cup qualifying was rained out so Aric Afterburner got the pole since he was the fastest car in practice. Jeff Burton is on outside pole.

Truck race was orderly overall as Matt Crafton said his strategy was to ride around until the last 20 laps then go racing and that’s pretty much what happened. There were a few wrecks, including a 12-truck crash on the last lap that took out most of the front of the field. Johnny Sauter emerged victorious. 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirty-One Charlotte

201310121955717178066fullThe best part of this weekend was having Darrell Waltrip in the booth instead of Petty Kyle. Unfortunately that trend did not continue through Race Day. If only we could have race coverage with Petty Kyle or Larry McNuggets, it would be an improvement in coverage. If they could take Brad Daugherty with them it would be a much better Race Day.
