2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twelve Charlotte

201405252146783619439Okay, it’s been a while since I’ve race blogged. They’ve just been too boring to bother to talk about. There were a few minor notable incidents, but they were minor. Overall, in spite of what the announcers and SiriusXM talking heads are selling, I’ve not seen great racing since very, very early in the season and qualifying isn’t worth watching anymore. It may be exciting to them to watch cars sit and watch the clock wind down, then hurriedly get in a line to make a lap or two, but it doesn’t do a thing for me except leave me dependent on them to figure out who’s fastest. Watching what looks like practice is less interesting to me than watching a single car race the clock and seeing the speed. Continue reading “2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twelve Charlotte”

2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Six Martinsville

201403301640600025374Cloudy day in Martinsville at race time. If the weather that moved through the Atlanta area is headed their way, there may be sunshine later today. I’ve not checked the forecast. We had clouds and rain Friday and Saturday, but the sun is shining now, so maybe they’ll see sun by the time of the Truck series race which was rescheduled from yesterday to after the Cup race today.

A competition caution is scheduled for lap 40.

Wreck on lap 2. Continue reading “2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Six Martinsville”

2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Five Fontana

201403222008724883122I missed most of this race. The Nationwide race was so boring it kind of soured me on watching the race. Kyle Larson won that one, beating out Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick who were strong all day. Good for him. I was surprised.

Something is wrong with Denny Hamlin causing him to be unable to drive this weekend, so Sideways Sam Hornish is in the 11 car this weekend. Apparently he’s having vision issues and could not get medically cleared. Gotta find out more about that. Continue reading “2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Five Fontana”

2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Four Bristol

201403161606579785171Rainy Sunday in Bristol. Entirely too much Michael Waltrip, but then that’s always the case. Unfortunately Brad Keselowski had time to sit on the desk and yak. He’s become so fake – almost as fake as Michael Waltrip. Sigh. It was nice to see an ‘interview’ between Darrell Waltrip and Kasey Kahne. It was just too short. So NASCAR is going to try to get the race halfway through since the forecast calls for rain through Tuesday or so. Continue reading “2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Four Bristol”
