Lovely weather in Phoenix. Congratulations to Dawsonville Georgia’s Chase Elliott the 2014 Nationwide Series champion. 18-year-old Chase is the youngest national champion in the history of the NASCAR. He is also the first Nationwide Champion who is also the Rookie of the Year. Congratulations also to Erik Jones on his win in the truck series Friday night. 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirty-Four Texas
Beautiful day at Texas Motor Speedway. Clouds pass over occasionally. The time changed last night so we’ll probably hit darkness before the end of the race. Matt Kenseth leads them to the green flag.

2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirty-Three Martinsville
It’s a beautiful day here in the Atlanta metro area. I believe the weather is gorgeous in Martinsville also. The thrill is gone for me. The remaining Chase contenders are either folks I don’t want to see win, or folks I don’t particularly care if they win. I’m really glad I don’t have tickets to Homestead now.

2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirty-Two Talladega
Beautiful day at Talladega Motor Speedway. I’m sure its around the same temp as here, so that precludes me from sitting in the grandstands. I get cold far too easily these days to be in the grandstands with the temperatures in the mid 60s. The first race I saw was about that and it was too chilly to not wear a jacket and baking in a jacket when the sun was out. Quite uncomfortable. The televised coverage of the race on ABC starts at the competition caution on lap 25. The entire pre-race show and the first 30 minutes of the race were lost to a college football game.
