Nice night in Texas, 72 degrees with a partly cloudy sky. KyBu has the pole. I hope he won’t stink up the show as usual. Carl Edwards is the in the booth. Unfortunately he joins Adam Alexander and Michael Waltrip. FS1 desperately needs to hire quality NASCAR broadcasters. Race Day featured Danielle Trotta wearing an outfit that left her looking like she would be the center of attention and business on any street corner. Next to her was Larry McReynolds who has to be an embarrassment to Alabama, which is saying a lot considering some of the many embarrassments in Alabama, current and historic. When Kenny Wallace is the best the show has to offer – Kenny is fun, but no professional broadcaster/sportscaster – the show is in desperate need of some actual talent to frame Kenny’s fun. Dale Jr is in the field this evening. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Six Texas”
2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Six Martinsville
The sky in Martinsville is gorgeous – clear, blue perfection. Earlier I saw that it was 46 degrees with 15 mph winds. You couldn’t pay me to sit outside in grandstands in that weather – then again I’m from Georgia. Mild weather means something totally different to me than it does to a person in and around New Hampshire. Kasey Kahne is starting on the outside pole position. Congrats to Kasey for a great qualifying effort. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Six Martinsville”
2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Four Phoenix
Blue sky day over rattlesnake hill as Kyle Busch leads the field to the green flag. 39 cars in the field again this week. Hmmmm. That really seems to be the continuation of a less-than-positive trend.
Jimmie Johnson had a frightening crash on Friday during qualifying. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Four Phoenix”
2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Three Las Vegas
It’s cloudy and windy in Vegas. The winds are blowing at 25-30 mph with gusts to 50 mph. The clouds are hanging rather low though the sun is shining currently. Kenseth says “there’s some rain coming in and out”. Myers says there’s a 25% chance of rain. The skies look quite threatening at the moment. 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Two Atlanta
It’s sunny and cool in Atlanta. Too cool for this Georgian to be sitting in grandstands so I’m sitting on my sofa in my cozy living room watching the race on television and enjoying feeling warm and seeing the sunshine.
Congrats to John Hunter Nemechek on his Camping World Truck Series win yesterday. It was a good race. It got a little crazy at the end with Christopher Bell losing it into Daniel Suarez, turning him into Matt Crafton. Suarez and Crafton were running second and first, respectively, at the time. Karma took care of Christopher Bell shortly thereafter when he blew a right front tire and hit the wall. Unfortunately it was a hard hit though he got out of the car and walked to the ambulance without assistance. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Two Atlanta”
