Someone should explain to Mikey that hysteria and excitement are NOT the same. When you sound hysterical you amp up the anxiety in the audience, not the excitement. Instead of selling the race, you leave the audience nervous and reduce the enjoyment of the event. Dale Earnhardt Jr, a winning driver, is in the booth. Why is Michael Waltrip there also? I understand Adam Alexander can’t quite handle things on his own, but Andy Petree is a wonderful on-air personality and a crew chief. He would be a very welcome addition to the Xfinity broadcasts on FOX – actually to both the Xfinity and Sprint Cup races. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Thirteen Michigan”
2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirteen C Charlotte
It’s a great day to be a race fan! Three races in race day! Loving it! Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton for winning the Monaco Grand Prix in the rain. Congratulations to rookie Alex Rossi on his first Indy Car win at the 100th Indianapolis 500.
Congrats to Raymond Park, Rick Hendrick and Benny Parsons on their inclusion in the 2017 Hall of Fame. I’m pleased Richard Childress was added to the Hall of Fame though I feel his addition to the Hall of Fame is premature. I, like MRN’s Pistol Pete Pistone, feel the Hall of Fame has neglected the pioneers of the sport. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirteen C Charlotte”
2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirteen B
It’s been raining off and on for the past couple of days in Charlotte so the schedule has been a bit muddled with qualifying getting cancelled for the truck and for the All-Star Race and the Showdown getting moved to Saturday morning.
Congrats to Matt Crafton on winning the truck series race today. It was a boring race, but Crafton did a nice job. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirteen B”
2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twelve Dover
It’s a lovely sunny day, as Kevin Harvick leads the field to the green flag in Dover. The high temperature is expected to be 58 degrees. It was quite breezy before the start of the race. You’d have to pay me to sit in those grandstands. Now, that bubble above the track, I might sit up there – protected from the elements, but not in the wind and chill. It rained overnight so there will be a competition caution at lap 40. The qualifying order was set from first round practice speeds so some great drivers are buried in the field. NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Ten Talladega
29 years to the day after his father won the pole at Talladega, rookie Chase Elliott will lead the field to the green flag. Great going rookie!
Caution on lap 50 of 188 for Dale Earnhardt Jr losing it and getting into the wall. Kasey Kahne was caught up in it as did Matt DiBenedetto.. Looks like David Gilliland got some damage in that incident also. Both Dale Jr and Kasey have heavy damage. Continue reading “NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Ten Talladega”
