2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twenty-Nine Dover

Cloudy in Dover at race time. Sixteen laps in and the sun is breaking through the clouds. Kevin Harvick is in the garage with a track bar mount replacement operation underway. Since he has a win it’s really no harm no foul for him if he doesn’t get back on the track – he’s going to the next round.

Caution on lap 105 of 400 for Ryan Blaney slamming the outside wall. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twenty-Nine Dover”

2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race Eighteen Las Vegas

It was 90 degrees during qualifying in Vegas. They’re starting the race a couple hours earlier and it’s warmer than it has been for this race, so the crews are a bit unsure what to expect. Timothy Peters will lead the field to the green flag. Congratulations to TP on the pole.

Things were rained out at Dover today for Xfinity and Cup. The Xfinity series race is postponed to tomorrow.

2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twenty-Seven Chicago

The first race of the Chase will be held under lovely blue skies in Chicagoland. Kyle Busch leads the field to the green flag due to qualifying getting rained out on Friday.

Caution during green flag pit stops on lap 49 of 267 for Aric Almirola’s loose tire. The crewman rolled the tire to the wall, it bounced off and rolled across pit road into the grass. KHarv and Jimmie dodged the tire on their way into pit road, before the caution was thrown.

Jimmie Johnson crossed the start-finish line on pit road before Martin Truex Jr crossed the start-finish line on the track. He will lead them to green on the restart. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twenty-Seven Chicago”

2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Twenty-Six Chicago

200 laps of racing at Chicagoland Speedway to set the field for the Xfinity Series’ inaugural Chase. Ho hum. I don’t really see where the Chase is going to add excitement to the series, but okay. Maybe, somehow, a different format will negate the boredom inspired by Cup drivers winning almost every Xfinity series race every week. I can’t see how, but maybe I lack imagination in this area. Since Kyle Busch is leading them to green, its really hard to imagine, but I do believe in miracles and wish for the best for this series. Barring a catastrophe of some sort we’ll likely see KyBu in the winner’s circle – again. Continue reading “2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Twenty-Six Chicago”
