So I was walking along thinking about fear the other morning; specifically the things I fear most. I realized one of the things I fear most is my creativity. The other thing I fear most is love. I was surprised at those answers when they entered my consciousness. Afraid of my own creativity? Afraid of love? Continue reading “fearing the greatness in me”

2010 Fall Kansas Sunday
So the ESPN Kansas broadcast started out in typical NASCAR on ESPN fashion – the Countdown show had video, but no audio. Yesterday’s Countdown show wasn’t shown, as usual, due to a college football game. It is a mystery to me that I see a zillion ESPN channels in the channel guide, but regularly at the scheduled time for Countdown I’m stuck watching some other sporting event. Now interestingly at race time there was a notification at the bottom of the screen that the race would be broadcast on ESPN Classic. It seems to me that it would be a better idea to schedule the race on a channel that does not have something else scheduled during that time, and have a plan B that is announced early when problems arise. When I checked ESPN Classic a few hours before the race the channel guide indicated that it was a channel that was not a part of my cable package. That’s unacceptable. It doesn’t really matter if it is or is not. NASCAR is a sport of the people and should be readily available to the people. I wish they would put it back on ABC or ESPN should have a channel dedicated to motorsports, or dedicated to programming which conflicts with current broadcasts – basically a dedicated overflow channel. 2010 Fall Dover Sunday
Jimmie Wins!!! Jimmie had a great points day, leading laps, started on pole, won the race. Jimmie has led 35 of the last 40 Chase races. Burton finished second. Jimmie has won 19 of the 62 Chase races that have been run.
The race was okay. They would string out pretty quickly and had lots of long green flag runs. Most of the pit stops were green flag pit stops. Clint Bowyer had a miserable day and finished several laps down. Continue reading “2010 Fall Dover Sunday”
2010 Fall Dover Saturday
“You can’t win a pissing contest with a skunk.”
Richard Childress 25 September 2010
Sprint Cup practice was eventful today as Kevin Harvick ran into Denny Hamlin on the track a few times causing a bit of damage on the right front and rear of Hamlin’s car. When both drivers were called to the garage by NASCAR a war of words ensued between crew chiefs, drivers, and various members of both teams which resulted in Director of Competition John Darby and other NASCAR officials stepping in. It is believed the incident was sparked by comments made by Hamlin during yesterday’s press conferences. Hamlin had a lot to say about Clint Bowyer’s 33 Team’s penalties for failing post-race inspection last week. While it appeared all of the drivers were asked about the incident, Denny’s response seemed the most provocative. Continue reading “2010 Fall Dover Saturday”
