Week 3 2012 – Las Vegas

STOP SHOUTING!!! What is this new thing with people shouting on television? Am I supposed to believe volume equals excitement? In my experience when people are shouting for no apparent reason I find that their sanity is usually someone else’s memory. I understand some allowances have to be made to raise the intensity after Matt Clark stumbles and mumbles his way Continue reading “Week 3 2012 – Las Vegas”

Lamentation for the Loss of Trackside Live

Once upon a time there was a show called Trackside Live on Speed.  It was nicknamed “Friday Night House Party”.  Weekly, during NASCAR season, the crew would gather, Byrnesy (Steve Byrnes), DW(Darrelll Waltrip), Hollywood(Jeff Hammond), Ell-yut(Elliott Sadler) and the guests and talk about the upcoming race, practices, the track, the drivers, the garage, the weather, and anything else relevant to that particular week’s contest.  Several drivers would show up and plug something and generally shoot the sh*t with the guys.  I looked forward to it.  It was appointment television. The 2012 NASCAR Season is FINALLY underway!

FINALLY!!! It’s been an endless winter without NASCAR.  I typically spend a lot of hours each week with the television tuned to SpeedTV watching NASCAR coverage.  For the past couple of months, I’ve been without NASCAR practice, qualifying and racing.  It’s been very sad.  But that’s all over now!  The NASCAR season is officially underway.
