Tonight is the award show. I’ve been looking forward to it since it was announced. Imagine my disappointment to have my ears accosted by Danielle Trotta. Really????? I thought this event was as important to the sport as the Daytona 500, but the SpeedTV coverage indicates otherwise since none of the senior broadcasters deigned to appear on the show leaving it to beavis and butthead – I mean Danielle (ooops I forgot to try on my dress before the cameras rolled) Trotta and Rutledge – if that guy on Fox can be on a sports show and be considered funny so can I – Wood. NASCAR 2012 Week 36 Homestead Chase Race 10

Race day is mostly sunny in Homestead. Joey Logano has the pole. He wrecked in practice yesterday and had to go to a backup car, so he will start at the back instead. That allows Brad Keselowski who qualified third to start on the front row. Jimmie qualified tenth, but he seems pleased with the car. If Brad finishes 15th or better next week he wins the championship no matter what Jimmie does. If he leads a lap he has to finish sixteenth or better. If he leads the most laps he has to finish seventeenth or better. Jimmie has his work cut out for him, but, as he says he has nothing to lose. The Awards ceremony will air November 30th according to the commercial. Continue reading “NASCAR 2012 Week 36 Homestead Chase Race 10”

NASCAR 2012 Week 34 Texas Chase Race 8
Jimmie Johnson has captured the pole – his first career Texas pol. He starts the race 2 points ahead of Brad Keselowski in the championship race. Race day dawns sunny and bright, 68 degrees as race time draws near.
SpeedTV is doing a special on Hendrick Motorsports’ 200 NASCAR wins that will air November 11th. They’ve been airing small portions of it throughout the weekend. The drivers who contributed to those 200 wins get together and tell stories and share memories. SpeedTV is also airing a special on November 15th called ‘Kurt Busch: The Outlaw’. Seriously? Okay. It will help as the season draws to a close, but, Dude! Seriously? Continue reading “NASCAR 2012 Week 34 Texas Chase Race 8”

Race day is partly cloudy and cool in Martinsville. Dale Jr. is back so Jr. Nation is thrilled. Jimmie has qualified on the pole and Bradley K has qualified 32nd. Denny qualified somewhere in the top ten, around sixth I think. Continue reading “NASCAR 2012 Week 33 Martinsville Chase Race 7”
