2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series Race 1 Daytona

071yeIVaKycTM_blog_1920x1238cCrazy race with lots of Cup cars in the field! I started watching on a restart with 15 laps to go.
Caution is out with 5 laps to go, Michael Annett hits the wall.

Green, White, checkered restart. Crazy race heading toward the checkered flag turns into a massive crash with Kyle Larson’s car going into the catch fence and losing the front of his car as the engine and a tire becoming embedded in the fence. The other wheel flew over the fence and apparently hit a fan. Also other pieces of the debris hit fans in the grandstands causing assorted injuries. 2013 Duels at Daytona

budweiser_duel_at_daytona_logo_325x217Krista Voda announces that this is the final afternoon Duels at Daytona. Beginning next year the Duels will be night races. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Night races at Daytona are typically BORIN!!! The fact that the most memorable thing from last year’s Daytona races was the exploding jet dryer incident. SAD!!! I’m sitting here wishing, desperately, I could hear this team call the race on Sunday. Continue reading “My Ears Are Smiling”

2013 NASCAR Sprint Unlimited at Daytona

Sprint UnlimitedOn a cool and windy night the drivers head to the drivers’ meeting to prepare for the race formerly known as the Bud Shootout.

Jimmie Johnson is doing a half-marathon (13 miles) tomorrow to raise money for his charity – The Jimmie Johnson Foundation.

SpeedTV has the hokeyest voice-over on lots of stuff with the Sprint Unlimited. It’s like the ‘wacky’ TMZ voice-over guy doing NASCAR voice over. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TACKY!!! It is starting to feel like the people in charge of NASCAR programming on SpeedTV feel the same disdain about NASCAR as the anchors on ESPN. Continue reading “2013 NASCAR Sprint Unlimited at Daytona”
