Well…I just saw the BEST RACE of the season! The Sprint All-Star race had it all!!! Side-by-side racing, 3-wide racing, lead changes, organic cautions, people coming from the back to challenge for the lead, and for me, as a 48 fan, Jimmie Johnson becoming a 3-Time All-Star Race Champion. It was everything I could’ve wanted from a race and was capped off by Mr. Hendrick climbing on the side of the car and getting a ride down the front-stretch by the winner! NASCAR 2012 Race 11 Darlington
JIMMIE WINS!!! Â Number 200 for Hendrick Motorsports!!
The race was incredibly boring until about lap 312. Â Lots and lots and lots and lots of green flag laps. Â 1 Caution for someone blowing up around lap 172. Â Then more green flag laps. Â A real snooze-fest!
Suddenly, around lap 312 the drivers seem to wake up and realize the end was nigh and it was time to actually do the job they’re paid to do and RACE!
So the rest of the race was good. There were battles and action and a Green-White-Checkered finish. Continue reading “NASCAR 2012 Race 11 Darlington”
NASCAR 2012 Race 10 Talladega
Historically my favorite race – though the last few have left a bit to be desired. It has been an exciting weekend of racing so far. The ARCA series kicked things off with a bizarre action-filled race. For reasons beyond my understanding Chad Hackenbracht pushed Brandon McReynolds to the win. So Larry Mc’s spawn has his first ARCA win. I guess Chad Hackenbracht owed Larry Mc money. Debt paid, I hope. The race itself was really strange. Lots of wrecks and some strange wrecks. There were so many cautions throughout and the race itself was just strange. I love this series though. Too many money teams showing up these days and stealing the spotlight, but I still like to watch. Continue reading “NASCAR 2012 Race 10 Talladega”
NASCAR 2012 Race 9 Richmond
Richmond – 3/4 mile – Night race. Okay. After a season full of boring races, and the tradition of boring night races, I expected more of the same of Richmond. It didn’t disappoint for the most part. NASCAR seemed to try to mix things up. Almost as soon as Mike Joy or Chris Myers mentioned the dearth of cautions this season a debris caution occurred. But like the Nationwide race the previous night, a little action at the end does not make a good race overall. Continue reading “NASCAR 2012 Race 9 Richmond”
