Interesting, they start Race Day with Chris Myers, DW and Mikey. The pit reporters have a round. They do a piece on Jimmie finding the little kid who gave him such an enthusiastic hug last week, then go to the Race Day crew. Very interesting. Lulled me into a false sense of comfort. No Matter How You Spell It, He’s A Winner!
American Pharoah wins the triple crown! It’s the first time a horse has won the triple crown in 37 years!
This is the third largest margin of victory by a triple crown winner. Only Secretariat ran the Belmont Stakes faster. It’s American Pharoah’s eighth career start. Continue reading “No Matter How You Spell It, He’s A Winner!”
2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirteen Dover
The sun is shining in Dover. Congrats to Landon Cassill and his wife Katie on the birth of their first son, Beckham Bear Alan Cassill. The birth topped off a week of good things for Landon. After racing in the NASCAR Xfinity race last Saturday and the NASCAR Sprint Cup race on Sunday, Landon ran 14 miles from the track to the NASCAR Hall of Fame. He also picked up a new sponsor for this week’s race at Dover. Good times for good people. Continue reading “2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Thirteen Dover”
2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twelve Charlotte
Of course, this is the motorsports’ fan’s dream weekend starting with the Monaco GP Formula 1 race, the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600. I’m looking forward to great action tomorrow. I didn’t do a blog entry for the All-Star Race though I watched it. It really wasn’t worth talking about. So this week the boys are still in Charlotte for the Coca-Cola 600 – the longest race of the year. I’m hoping it will be a good one. I considered going, but couldn’t quite work out the logistics. Maybe next year.
One bit of news from the week thrilled me – Jeff Gordon will be replacing Larry Mc in the FOX booth in 2016! I’m excited. Continue reading “2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twelve Charlotte”
2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Ten Talladega
NASCAR has a new qualifying format for Talladega – SINGLE CAR RUNS!!! Dude!!! Finally!!! I so miss the single car qualifying. It’s single car, single lap, which is different, but at least we can see everybody qualify and not a whole lot of sitting around on pit road playing strategy. Jeff Gordon won his 80th career pole. Congrats Big Daddy! Continue reading “2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Ten Talladega”
