2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Twenty-Eight Loudon

Cloudy in Loudon. Cole Custer, 16 years of age, won his first truck series race yesterday. Since the Cup guys are in Loudon, Kentucky was lite on Cup guys making for a more interesting finish than usual. Brendan Gaughan’s experience netted him the win.

After logging laps for a while the cautions began to fall in the Sprint Cup race shuffling things up a bit.

The new format has dampened my enthusiasm for the Chase. The chance that bad luck in a couple of races could keep someone out of eligibility for the championship really causes me to be relatively uninterested in the first half of the Chase.

Can someone PLEASE tell Dale Jarrett to SHUT UP occasionally. I can’t figure out if its 5-Hour Energy, or what that’s causing him to seem to think he should fill every silence with his babbling. It has been totally maddening this season. I’m used to Brad Daugherty thinking he has something to add to every discussion an rabbiting on incessantly (and adding nothing but a repetition of the previous comment, or something that shouldn’t have been said), but it seems Dale is trying to fulfill a word count every race – like he gets a bonus if he says a certain number of words per broadcast. He also has suddenly become wrong as often as Marty Reid was during broadcasts and Marty finally got let go. I know this is ESPN’s last season, but I’ve been disappointed by the lack of class they’ve been displaying in their NASCAR coverage.

Logano wins on a green-white-checkered restart. I wondered if KHarv was going to mention that he though Joey was jumping every restart. He complained about that during the middle of the race. Jimmie finished fifth.

Next Race: Dover

GO 48!!!!
