Justin Bonsignore is in the Joe Gibbs Racing 18 car for William Sawalich this week. Sawalich suffered a head injury during a crash in last week’s Talladega race.

Caution on lap 32 of 250 for a spin by Myatt Snider (91). Daniel Dye (10) took Nicholas Sanchez (48) and Myatt Snider (91) three-wide causing the Snider spin.

Caution on lap 46 of 250 for a spin by Connor Mosack (99).

Justin Allgaier (7) wins stage one.

Caution on lap 90 of 250 for a spin by Jeb Burton (27).

Jesse Love (2) penalized for equipment interference. Kyle Sieg (28) and Brad Perez (07) penalized for speeding.

Carson Kvapil (1) wins stage two.

At some point Daniel Dye (10) got into Thomas Annunziata (70) who was having an issue. Flames shot out behind Dye’s car. Oil was seen on the Jesse Love (2) bumper-cam after the burst of flame. I saw a car smoking around the track. The smoking car was not the focus of the camera shot and it changed quickly, so I was unable to see which car was smoking. The CW showed several replays of the incident with Annunziata and Dye. It was missed live so I’m not certain on which lap it occurred.

On lap 179 of 250 Jeremy Clements (51) is heading to pit road with his right brake rotor on fire.

Caution on lap 193 of 250 for a crash involving Josh Williams (45), Brenden Queen (11) who went for a spin in front of Brennan Poole (44) and that collected Connor Zilisch (17).

Caution on lap 218 of 250 for spins by Parker Retzlaff (4) and Brad Perez (07).

Caution on lap 227 of 250 for a spin by Carson Kvapil (1).

Caution on lap 245 of 250 for Daniel Dye (10) tagging the outside wall with a right front tire down.

Restarting in overtime on lap 251 of 253

Taylor Gray (54) wins for the first time in the Xfinity Series.

      • Connor Zilisch (88)

      • Jesse Love (2)
      • Carson Kvapil (1)

Seems like someone is yelling at Sam Mayer (41) after the race. He looks familiar, though I’m seeing him from the side and slightly behind.

MRN reports NASCAR officials kept Jeb Burton (27) from approaching Sam Mayer. Jordan Anderson, Jeb Burton’s car owner, was the person who was in Sam’s face having his say.

Jeb Burton’s MRN post-race interview. Jeb was asked what happened with Sam Mayer: He shipped me on the front row in the first stage, sent me up the track for no reason. At the end of the race I moved him because I was pissed off. I didn’t wreck him. I moved him. After the race he wrecked me and destroyed my car and destroyed his. i hope nascar does something about it. I just want to be raced with respect like I race people. To wreck someone like that after the race, something ought to be done about it.” When asked if he would have a talk with Sam Mayer Jeb replied, “I would like to break his nose for that. What if I got really injured? There’s nothing really to say about it. His day is coming.”

Sam Mayer’s (41) MRN post-race interview – “I’m glad I’m not injured from last week’s wreck when he right hooked our car. I hope NASCAR will look at that and do something about it.” Sam paused, obviously trying to figure out how to say something without getting in trouble for saying it. He continued, “Well, he worked hard to be here, but he races way over his head.” Obviously he was attempting to work in Jeb’s family connections in NASCAR, then realized that would likely cause trouble. ” Jeb races the guys with the purple bumper stickers too hard.” The cars with purple bumper stickers are competing for the championship. So Sam is saying Jeb shouldn’t race the theoretically best cars in the field as hard as he races everyone else. “I have a lot of respect for Jordan Anderson and I hate I wrecked one of his cars. He’s a great person in the garage, but Jeb needs to learn a lesson and hopefully he will remember that going forward.” Sam’s interview indicates he knows he did something wrong, and is totally at fault. He is attempting to justify it by talking about something he claimed happened at Talladega – Jeb causing a crash. Sam is an excellent example of what’s wrong and needs repair on the driver side of NASCAR. Sam is dangerous, irresponsible, reckless, entitled, and unwilling to take responsibility. He is massively too immature for the job. He has a lot to learn about driving, but is too delusional – when it comes to his capabilities and skills – to continue to learn. Sam says Jeb ‘doesn’t have it’. Sam does not have what it takes to be a great NASCAR driver who represents his team well. His ego keeps him a hack.
