Caution on lap 1 of 100 for a crash involving Austin Hill (21), Ryan Ellis (43), Jeremy Clements (51), Akinori Ogata (35), Gus Dean (15), and CJ McLaughlin (14).

The Jeremy Clements (51) got loose went onto the apron the bounced back onto the track. several cars checked up including the 21 who got slammed from behind by the 43 seemingly going full speed then several other cars were collected.

Gus Dean’s (15) car has reportedly let go on lap 5 of 100 under caution.

Restarting on lap 9 of 100 with Chandler Smith (81) and Joe Graf Jr (19) up front.

Joe Graf Jr gets the early lane, though as soon as the next lane gets momentum Chandler Smith gets the lead.

MRN reports on lap 13 of 100 that Austin Hill (21) has met minimum speed so the crashed vehicle clock goes away. Hill is taking his car to the garage for further repairs. MRN’s Brad Gillie said Hill was barely able to meet minimum speed. He says the driveshaft is currently out of the car. Gillie reports Hill said the car was shaking so bad he could barely drive it.

The television coverage has been idiotic early. Between weird split-screen shots and replays of other races and bumper-cam shots, it’s dreadful as the stage nears the end. Pathetic since this is the last race of the regular season and racing is the point of the activities.

Lots of clouds around the track. It appears to be night already, though the skies are still relatively bright here; not dark enough for the street lights here. The track lights look necessary in Daytona.

Justin Allgaier (7) wins stage one.

MRN reports Jeb Burton (27) has a flat tire and has been on pit road a couple of times checking for damage.

MRN reports pace car speed if 70 mph and pit road speed is 55 mph.

Sam Mayer (1) wins the race off pit road, though Ryan Truex (20) is first off since he missed his pit box. Somebody spun into their pit stall. Since NBCSports is only showing the incident through the windshield of the car involved I can’t tell who it was. MRN reports it was Jesse Love (2).

Patrick Emerling (07) is penalized for a safety violation. Cole Custer (00) hit teammate Riley Herbst (98) leaving his pit stall. Herbst also penalized for not being single-file entering pit road. Jordan Anderson (32) penalized for a safety violation.

Restarting on lap 36 of 100 with Sam Mayer (1) and Sheldon Creed (18) up front.

Sam Mayer (1) spins out to bring out the caution on lap 59 of 100 after Anthony Alfredo (5) taps the wall.

Justin Allgaier (7) wins stage two under caution.

MRN was calling some exciting action. Television was showing the hoods or bumpers of cars throughout a lot of it.

Restarting on lap 65 of 100 with Ryan Truex (20) and Sheldon Creed (18) on the front row.

Caution on lap 68 of 100 for a spin by Brandon Jones (19).

Restarting on lap 73 of 100 with Ryan Truex (20) and Chandler Smith (81) up front.

Chandler Smith (81) busted up the middle getting several cars loose as he passed which set off the multi-car crash.

Cole Custer (00) is out of the race due to the damaged vehicle clock expiring.

Restarting on lap 82 of 100 with AJ Allmendinger (16) up front followed by Ryan Truex (20), Parker Kligerman (48), Ryan Sieg (39), Riley Herbst (98), Joe Graf Jr (19), Anthony Alfredo (5), Justin Allgaier (7), Chandler Smith (81), Kyle Weatherman (91) and Sheldon Creed (18).

Caution on lap 93 of 100 for a crash involving Anthony Alfredo (5), Caesar Baccarella (45), Josh Bilicki (22), Joe Graf Jr (19), Shane ‘SVG, Van Gisbergen (97), Patrick Emerling (07), Jeremy Clements (51) and Jeffrey Earnhardt (26).

On lap 97 of 102 the field is stopped on-track. At 2137 the red flag is displayed. Caution is out at 2149 eastern and the cars are rolling behind the pace car.

Restarting in overtime on lap 100 of 102 with Ryan Truex (20), AJ Allmendinger (16), Riley Herbst (98), Parker Kligerman (48), Chandler Smith (81), Justin Allgaier (7), Sheldon Creed (18), Ryan Sieg (39), Kyle Weatherman (91), Jordan Anderson (32), Joe Graf Jr (19), and Josh Williams (11) at the front of the field.

Ryan Truex gets the early lead off the restart.

Ryan Truex (20) takes the white flag.

AJ Allmendinger (16) slides into the infield then up into the outside wall bringing out the caution.

Ryan Truex (20) passes under the checkered flag and the caution flag.

That was an enjoyable race overall. It felt short and exciting which was a nice change from recent Xfinity series races at Daytona. The incidents occurred at decent intervals. The television coverage was awful. The radio broadcast was delightful and appropriate. That was a fun race, like an old-school super speedway race – a nice change. Very often I wished I could see what MRN was calling on-track, instead I, as a television viewer, was stuck watching the track surface and car bumpers and car hoods.
