2024 NASCAR Cup Series Race Fifteen Gateway

MRN announced a sold out crowd at Gateway. As they approached the green flag MRN’s Alex Hayden suggested the crowd of people at the entry gate needed to hurry as they were going to miss the start of the event.

Christopher ‘CBell’ Bell (20) wins stage one.

MRN reports Christopher ‘CBell’ Bell (20) said he’s blowing up on lap 222 of 240 after a great back-and-forth battle, for about 10 laps, between he and Ryan Blaney (12) for the lead. Bell is trying to to hold position as well as possible to the end.

Until that battle with about 24 laps to go, the field had basically been driving around in circles without much racing action shown on the television broadcast.

Martin ‘MTJ’ Truex Jr (19) is pushing teammate CBell’s (20) car down the straightaways around the track for several laps, obviously trying to help Bell finish the event. Truex is three laps down. Shortly after MRN talked about it, and while the television broadcast was repeatedly showing it, MTJ dropped down to the inside of CBell. I guess NASCAR told the 19 to stop helping the 20 around the track.

Blaney suddenly has a problem at the white flag. Cindric passes teammate Blaney.

A boring race turned into a travesty as Christopher Bell’s engine has issues, then Ryan Blaney runs out of fuel. The finish was worst than the race.

Blaney said they were one lap short.

Bell said he was surprised the car made it to the end of the race. He said MTJ probably saved them a top ten finish. He went on to say Martin is a stand-up guy.
