2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series Race Four Phoenix

Cars in the field: 38
Pole: Cole Custer (00)
Outside pole: Chandler Smith (81)
Stages: 45-45-110
Weather: Sunny, 72°F, Wind ENE 12 mph

Caution on lap 4 of 200 for an incident involving Josh Williams (11) and Dawson Cram (4). Jeremy Clements (51) was on the inside lane of a three-wide situation going into the corner and doored Williams who spun.

Chandler Smith (81) wins stage one.

Corey Heim (26) pits under green for a loose tire.

Cole Custer (00) holds off Justin Allgaier (7) to win stage two.

Frankie Muniz (35) will have to serve a restart violation penalty for going below the yellow line before he reached the start line.

Caution on lap 137 of 200 for Hailie Deegan (15) bouncing off the wall.

Caution on lap 143 of 200 for a crash involving John Hunter ‘JHN’ Nemechek (20), Riley Herbst (98), Hailie Deegan (15), Sam Mayer (1), Jeb Burton (27), Parker Retzlaff (31), Austin Hill (21), Brandon Jones (9), William ‘WillyB’ Byron (17), Aric Almirola (19), Ryan Ellis (43), and Brennan Poole (44).

Red flag is out. Caution flag is out.

Restarting on lap 151 of 200.

Kyle Sieg (28) hits the wall on lap 156 of 200 and the race stays green.

Caution on lap 195 of 200 as leader Justin Allgaier (7), 2.419 seconds ahead of second position, crashes into the wall in turn one after losing the left rear.

Todd Gordon in the MRN booth said typically when you see left-rear tire failures it’s due to ‘too low’ tire pressures. He doesn’t know if Allgaier ran over something, or if the tire pressure was too low.

Restarting in overtime with Chandler Smith (81), Sheldon Creed (18), Jesse Love (2), Cole Custer (00), Austin Hill (21) up front.

Chandler Smith (81) holds off Sheldon (18) and Jesse (2) to win.

Allgaier (7) said he felt the tire come apart like he “ran something over” and then he “was a passenger”.

Boring, but busy race, with a disappointing finish.
